Two issues: 1. The location would not allow me to rent my truck without forcing me to buy the "optional" insurance. The team member behind the desk tried hard, on our behalf, even calling his boss and then the district manager (so he said). But in the end he would not allow us to rent the truck without buying the u-haul branded insurance (even after showing him on the u-haul website that the insurance was optional). This felt like a real bait-and-switch, as the website gave us one price and then because we had to spend $30 on insurance I didn't want the price was different. 2. The day before picking up, an email from u-haul said the equipment we wanted (a standard 15' truck) wasn't available at our chosen location (Attleboro MA) and we would need to pick up in Norton MA. I needed the truck, so I said OK. We then drove the truck down to Attleboro, right past the u-haul location I was told had no equipment, and there were a dozen 15' trucks there... We took extra time and paid for extra mileage, when the location that I had selected did in fact have trucks... Overall, the truck worked well, but the administrative part of the process felt like u-haul was trying to rip us off in multiple ways -- it was a negative experience that tainted the day of our move.

Inside the bed of the truck there was tons of glass. I had to clean it before use. And thr vehicle was guven to me with a little over 1/8 of a tank of gas. So I had to fuel up before and after. Also when I arrived was told the website was down and I possibly would not be able to rent the vehicle. This came at a great inconvenience convenience. I was given no advance notice. After delay, they were able to get into the site to allow me to finish the process.
