I had a terrible experience with the New GM" Roy. I was totally racially profiled. I was told Uhaul does not rent to anyone with a "out-of-state license. First of all, let me make it very clear. I have rented from this Uhau location numerous times wit my GA drivers license. I live out of state (GA), but, I frequent Florida often as a vendor and former resident. This was my first time being serviced by the"GM" Roy. So, on Friday, I stop in to make a reservation for the next day. I arrive with my 70 year old father in my very nice car. I parked in one of their bays. As we're getting out of the car, the "GM" ask us very nicely not to park there. We moved the car, then proceed to look at their vans. The GM asked if he could be of service. I told him what I was looking for and then we went in the office to finalize the reservation. Roy, the GM was unfamiliar with the reservation process because another worker, who was obviously "just a worker", had to assist him in adjusting the price to match that which was advertised in their store (.29 per mile). Finally, all was well. Roy made the reservation and asuured me, he would be there the next morning when I picked up the vehicle. Interesting enough, Roy emphasized the return of the vehicle to his location about three times. I assured him I would. The next morning, I arrived at the store to pick up the van. As I aproached Roy sitting at the desk with another couple, I over hear him tell them, he could not rent to them. The leave quietly. I step up and say I'm hear to pick up a van. I give him my name and he looks up my reservation. Obviously, he did not recognize me from the day before. As I was dressed very casually (shorts, tank, and flip flops). He finds my name and sees that I have a GA drivers license. He says, sorry I can't rent to you with an out-of-state license. As you can imagine, I was floored. I asked, "since when did this start? He says, since Uhaul changed their policy. I said, " I made this reservation yesterday and you failed to mention it then. He says, "ma'am look, I'm sorry, but if you have a out-of-state license, I can't rent to you. So, I said, that's ridiculous, and not Uhual 's policy. He says, well do you even have a car registration. I can't rent unless you have a car registration". I was furious by now. I said with quite an attitude; "you didn't say any of this nonsense yesterday when you made the reservation". He looked at the computer at said, "Carlos made this reservation ". I said, "no, you made this reservation! Carlos came over to assist you because you didn't know how to change the price". I think he remembered who I was when I mentioned Carlos was the one who helped him. By then, I had walked outside to ask by boyfriend to rent the vehicle, since he was a Florida resident. When I returned, with a city official car registration, Florida license and credit card, Roy refuse any of it and apologize for his "racist" (my word) behavior. Said, he was s

The only thing that I didn't know about was how to properly close the back doors properly. I asked the man to show me before leaving with the trailor. And he did. But he failed to show me the importance of the top being secured in the lil hole (latch hole). So when I arrived in SC driving through rain several hours, everything in the back of my Uhaul was wet. ?? I'm a woman who's never used Uhaul before. So I didn't know about the top latch. Only the bottom was shown to me by the person who rented it to me. But they were very friendly and kind. I love my new installed hitch as well! Thank you.

About the only complaint I would have is this. I spoke to someone a day prior to picking up the trailer I rented. I had to change the location because the trailer I wanted was too far out of my way to go and get. There was no problem with that though. During the conversation I was told by the representative that I could drop the trailer off in Dunnellon, closer to where I live, rather than Ocala, where I had to pick it up. In fact, I ever overheard her manager tell the rep I could do that at not extra charge. Unfortunately, even though the rep said she would note that on the rental notes, she didn't. When I called to verify this when I was done with the trailer, the rep I spoke to, who was a different rep, rudely said she "knew of no such thing" and no one had passed this along to anyone. Therefore, in order to keep from getting hammered with one way fees, even though I was told I could drop it in Dunnellon without any extra charge, I took it back to Ocala, nearly an hour away from where I live. I had to spend extra on gas, time, and was almost late picking up my son from school because of the unplanned trip to Ocala. All over miscommunication . I wasn't happy.

Approximately three weeks ago I rented a pick-up truck for the 19.95 with mileage...when I returned it I was informed that if I needed it again I would be better off with the 79.00 rate with 100 miles..so that's what I rented it for this time..when I picked up the truck I questioned why I was being charged the amount on the receipt...the agent told me it had to be set at 105 miles but if I brought it back with less than 100. It would be adjusted in my favor..I only went approx. 80.00 miles and when I got my receipt I was charged the 19.95 rate with a per mile charge...when I questioned the agent he then proceeded to tell me it would have been the same charge because I was charged for not bringing it back with the amount of gas I left with which was a lie...I left with three quarters of a tank and I returned it with three quarters and have the receipt for the fifteen dollars I pumped...I feel I was misled and misinformed and was totally insulted when he told me I was being charged because I did not replace gas

Original of Vehicle Registration form was left at UHaul and has not been located by staff. I picked up moving van on 4/30 @ 3pm & returned keys in drop box @ 7:20 pm on same date. Stopped by UHaul 5/4 to pick up my Vehicle Registration Form but staff was unable to locate. I phoned U-Haul on 5/9 to inquire about registration - staff made quick assessment & said he would go through contracts & would call me back. I received a call back later to inform me that he had spent past hour looking and did not find my registration any where.

The employees were very nice and accommodating but having to run between UHAUL locations in a 32ft RV for the correct size trailer hitch and then again because the lights on the trailer didn't work, was not how I wanted to spend 3 hours. I appreciated they hooked everything up but the car wasn't centered on the dolly and the tire strap came undone. I was promised a $50 credit for my inconvenience and haven't seen it yet.

Employer broke my back up color camera while hooking up trailer to hitch, and acted like nothing ever happened. Didn't apologize for it nor offered to replace it. I made the comment about the incident and he just brushed it off.
