They were closed because it was Memorial Day, but they had a 24-hour drop-off, which was great. They processed my drop-off before I got to work this morning, and it was exactly as I expected.

Hicks Tire & Muffler is a very efficient and well run operation. The atmosphere is like a bee hive--a lot is going on, but you get in and out of there pretty quickly.

I would recommend pickup agent checks to see if they have a replacement truck to offer before the client is told that our reserved truck is unavailable. Many professional operations do this as I have experienced myself. It is unprofessional to scare customers first and then check for options all because the last person never showed with truck. Additionally, my replacement had greasy fingerprints all over frt, noticed engine making noise within 50 miles of pu location. I found oil over 2 qts low and added. Ac worked fair and quit blowing cool air at all twice during trip. Dome light stuck on at times and feel lucky I caught it so battery didn't die, however starter did drag a few times which made me think it might not start at all. I also experienced a problem where transmission would not shift down going up over a steep overpass which had me getting screamed at by other drivers because I was blocking traffic due to truck being unable to climb hill. I was finally able, after repeated to get vehicle to shift, to climb the hill and quit blocking traffic. While going down the hill on other side transmission would not shift up, all while in drive range, which caused engine to Rev very highly as I gained speed on the decline. So, there I was towing dolly with car on it in narrow lanes that curved back and forth in construction area with rows of cars in both lanes beside me trying while trying to keep truck and dolly in my own lane while engine was screaming because transmission would not upshift. At my first chance, while blocking traffic and going slower than everyone else by far, I steered vehicle off of highway and shut down engine. After a few minutes, I started it back up and looked at gauges, nothing seemed abnormal, so I resumed my trip. I finally made it to my destination feeling lucky really with all of the issues I encountered during the trip.
