Please ensure that the people at the front desk are paying attention and not just chatting with each other. I was not given a physical contract and they did not use my online reservation. When I brought it up, they said they didn't need it and that what they were doing was fine.

I was overcharged on mileage by more than twice the miles I actually drove. Not sure if this is a routine practice to inflate charges as this is my first experience with this location.

So maybe she was not with the pickup location they actually did an exceptional job however as usual U-Hauls computer system was down at the time we only needed the trailer for 2 days they took my information for the time that these paper I'm assuming lost it after that Craigslist never charged the following day and by the time was time to drop it off at the end of that evening the person that the drop-off location which was the only one in Gainesville Florida that accept trailers so it was the main hub. That lady threw a fit, her Porter cursing throwing my employees phone towards his manager and saying you handle it instead of being grown-ups calling back towards the Pflugerville store to figure out what happened and where to get it taken care of they threw a fit like a bunch of five-year-olds. My employee had to leave the trailer there was the only location that you could leave one at in Gainesville I called you Ridge location got them to check the trailer in and I guess they handled getting it turned back in however I have made a formal complaint against the main U-Haul Hub manager and Porter in Gainesville Florida for piss poor customer service and or attitude. Neither one of them should be working for U-Haul if that's the kind of attitude to have. I can understand a porter not wanting to deal with stuff because that's not his job however the manager understanding what happened when she was told the computer system was down we check out the truck should have just called up to Pflugerville store, make sure they check the trailer out and then after that check the trailer back in that was a simple as it would have been but oh no she wants to jump up and down threatening us with additional charges and so forth. Which is kind of hard since it wasn't in the system in the first place so would never ever recommend going to Gainesville Florida Main hub and I am waiting to be contacted by the director of marketing for U-Haul in relation to this issue.

The truck had a lot of damage to it (dents, and even a deep tear in the side of the truck wall). There was not a walk around to point out the damage. We were charged a cleaning fee upon return even though the truck had been cleaned out.

I think a mechanic needs to certify each vehicle leaving a UHaul location. The truck I rented left power steering fluid in my driveway, lost fluid the entire way to the home we were moving to, lost fluid in the street while I sat parked momentarily in the street in front of our new home, and once parked in the driveway, dribbled fluid down the driveway for a good five minutes. It was only then that I was aware of the problem, and it explained why the truck drove erratically. Roadside Assistance was extremely helpful and secured me a new truck within 2 miles of my location. It's a good thing we didn't have any serious problems on our move and that the truck didn't break down on the road in the Texas afternoon heat.

Don't try and charge people for gas when they filled it up at the right spot ! I was told to leave a 1/4 of tank . Guy checking in my truck after I left put a 1/8 of a Tank down had to go out of my way to go back to your store and get my money back .

I would never recommend this location to anyone. The service at the desk was awful, so was the condition of the truck. We have rented from u-haul for all of our moves and this has caused us to reconsider using them again. We were helped by “Manager Brianna” who let us know they could not locate our rental, even with our confirmation number, after some time at the desk and finding our rental information in the system we were handed keys and told to go pull it off the lot from where it was being stored on the line in the back of lot. We asked that the link for liability/ damage inspection that you fill out prior to leaving be resent as it wasn't working and were told to just take photos of the truck instead. No paperwork was reviewed, Insurance was not spoken about despite being purchased, and absolutely nothing was reviewed in general unlike anytime we have ever rented. We were asked what time we would be bringing the vehicle back and we said we were not sure but probably around 10 o'clock if we were done moving, both of us confused as we rented the truck for 24 hours. I assume the truck hasn't been inspected in some time or the breaks have yet to be replaced as this particular truck handled extremely poorly, the turning was under responsive and the breaks would grind when you slowed down, and took an excess amount of time to slow even when empty. The inside of the truck hadn't been cleaned, so we cleaned it ourselves before leaving the lot. Considering that we are in the middle of a pandemic you would think Uhaul would make an effort to ensure their trucks are sanitized between use but that is absolutely not the case. As we began to load we also had to take time to clean the back of the truck as it was full of dirt and small debris that we did not want to get on our belongings. After making a few trips to our storage I called as a courtesy to let the manager know we would be using our full 24 hour rental and our 10 pm guesstimate would not be correct. She informed me I had to bring it back by 10 or be charged for a second day, I sit on the phone and explain to her that everything online showed that this would be a 24 hour rental and that we have never had a time constraint on a uhaul we rented in the past. Her response was “since you said 10pm, the contract says 10pm and you'll have to pay if you keep it longer.” . Confused, I respond with “ Nobody explained to us that we would not have a 24 hour rental as that is what we selected, and when you asked what time we said ‘probably 10' and made it clear we were uncertain. It would have made sense to let us know that if you are putting in a time that it is set in stone and if we are uncertain that we have our rental for the 24 hours. “ the employee Spoke extremely rudely, and refused to acknowledge that she did not review anything with us, and even tried to accuse us of not wanting a 24 hour rental And even forgot who she spoke to in the store as me and my partner went together. Order a truck with a utility trailer. When I arrived, the employee told me that they don't provide hitches for trucks anymore. So I was confused because on Uhauls website, it shows a pickup truck connected to a utility trailer and now that isn't available? So I went back and forth with the employee and just said, I need something with a ramp, don't care on the size at that point, just something with a ramp. I received a 15ft moving truck (I think that was the size), it had a ramp and I was able to do what I needed to do that afternoon. Customer service was horrible, the two lady's in the office acted like they didn't want to be there, and they weren't wearing mask. Went to drop the truck off after two hours and when I arrived, nobody was in the office or outside. I waited for about 15 minutes before someone could help me with the return. And one last thing, the truck that I was given, was literally parked between two moving trucks with less than six inches on each side, luckily I didn't hit anything but that is just setting someone up for disaster. The transmission was slipping on top of that. I've never had to deal with issues like this at other locations but I've learned my lesson and will not use this location again. I don't write reviews but I had to on this occasion.

The truck I had was dirty. You could see some type of brownish red substance on the light fixture. The truck made this awful high pitch sound when I drove it and the steering wheel had so much play in it made it very hard to steer. The engine kept dragging like it couldn't go into gear and the middle part of the floorboard was so hot it made me feel like I was burning up. I told the agents about it and they didn't seem concerned didn't apologize or offer any compensation. And too top it off my order was transfers to another location that was way farther than I requested but I had to move and needed the truck. When I complained about it, the clerk just ask do you still wanted. No I didn't want it but I needed it!! Terrible customer service terrible equipment.
