I found that the online procedure to rent the vehicle was much slower than doing it in person . (I did it in person in the past.) I do not frequently rent U haul vehicles so I will not gain any advantage in speed in the near future — it will be too long for me to remember the system.

it wasn't the staff. It was the truck. I had my foot on the brake at a stop light and the trucks engine started to roar, then lurch forward. I almost hit the car in front of me at Washington/Broadway in Whittier. It did that three-four times, so I had to put it in neutral when I got close to other cars.

I was scheduled to pick up my truck at 7am via mobile device and when I arrived I was unable to do so because the keys were not placed in the correct location and I had to wait until 9am when the store opened and it delayed my move by two hours.

I walked into the store 2x this past week and got the same service... The workers appeared to hate their jobs, were not helpful, and on their phones, occasionally looking up at me like I was stupid when I asked simple questions about renting a truck. I had to leave the store and call Uhaul and talk to a representative who explained more over the phone than the workers at the Pico Rivera location. The workers did not know the policy of the box return, and when someone came who knew the policy, he made me feel as if I was a lowlife because of how he did not greet me and made sure he double checked my boxes to see if they were used. After this experience, I think I will take my business to Budget or another truck rental company.

The vehicle had a very strong smell of marijuana and made working and moving very unpleasant.

Truck fuel was empty upon pick up. Needed to fill immediately. Low tire pressure warning was on. Needled to return to facility to add air to one tire. Other tires were at 60 psi wich exceeded the max pressure for the tires. Someone should make sure the air is within the correct range and fill the tank before renting the vehicle.
