There was no Gas in the truck when we tried to pick up the truck- it didn’t start because no gas. Our movers had to sit and wait an extra hour- cost $70/ hr. I had to go to the gas station with gas can that Shelly gave to me with $20.00 to get gas for the truck~ I had to drive to get the gas myself- Horrible experience. However, Shelly was a sweetheart~ she took away some of the frustration. When returning the truck ~ another Saleswoman apologized for the gas situation from that morning.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with uhaul and will not be recommending the company to a friend. Despite having made a reservation 2 weeks in advance i was never contacted by a uhaul agent about the pick up and found out on the day that i was moving that there was no trailer within a hundred miles. I ended up having to drive an hour to pick up a truck, which wasnt what i wanted, and then once i was at the location it took 45 minutes for them to get the uhaul system to work and to get my contract printed out. My roommates had a reservation at a different uhaul location and the same thing happened to them. Completely unacceptable.

I made a reservation at the Chevron Gas station at Tara Hills and Appian Way to pick up my 10' Uhaul from there. The guy I spoke too ASSURED me that my truck would be there for pick up on May 25th. A couple days before my pick up date, I got an text message from Uhaul saying my pick up location was in RICHMOND! Wait what? What happened to my assured pick up? I don't have a car and getting all the way out to Richmond would have been a huge hassle. I had to call and get my pick up location changed to somewhere closer in Pinole. Nor could they get a truck to Chevron for me. They found Mc Mullen Glass a couple blocks down the street and changed it there for me. When I went to pick up my truck, they had the 10' I wanted. However I feel the woman who helped me was very rushed. None of my info had been put in, nor did she ask me how long I needed the truck. I had told the Chevron employee I originally made the reservation with that I needed it through Sunday. As she was walking away she told me I had to return the truck by 9:30, and if it was after hours to drop the key in the dropbox. (I think she was referring to 9:30AM on the 28th? But she didn't clarify.) The next morning (26th) I got a phone call saying I had a 10 am drop off for the truck. Uh what? No I had reserved it through the 27th. So that then had to get changed. Completed my move on Sunday. Couldn't remember if she'd said an 8:30 or 9:30 am drop off time so Monday morning went to drop off my Uhaul at 8:30am. Store wasn't open. Waited until 9:30. Still nothing. By this point I figured they weren't opening for Memorial Day. Ok. My phone doesn't do internet. I had no way to complete the "Drop my Truck off" option online. The black drop off box was not marked for Uhaul, so I had to hope the box was the right one. Overall, it was an ok experience. However, Don't Trust the Chevron to have your truck! Expect to pick up elsewhere.

Truck maintenance. I picked up the truck Friday morning before I went to work for Saturday use the radiator light was on and I was told as long as it stayed yellow not to worry about it I didn't think that was right but I had to make a move on Saturday and my hands were kind of tied. I got the truck home I told the office Personnel I would add a gallon of radiator fluid to the truck and to make note on my contract that the light was on I added the fluid Saturday morning before I drove the truck the radiator light was still on, it never went off. I went 25 miles and the truck overheated when I got to my destination the radiator leaked in the driveway where I was picking up the furniture practically the whole time I was there I took the truck to a local gas station and bought another jug of Prestone 50/50 blend and put that in the reservoir to make it back the 25 miles to the area where I was unloading the truck. The truck overheated 4 times and 25 miles I had to pull over and wait for it to cool off because I refilled the Prestone jug with water at the gas station just in case. The passenger window did not have a handle so I couldn't put the window down on that side I could only put the driver side window down because the cabin was filling up with the smell of radiator fluid as I stated it overheated numerous times on the way back to my home I tried to call but Mullen glass was closed. The radiator fluid sprayed up onto the windshield constantly to where I can hardly see I got back to town and to my storage unit and unloaded and immediately took the truck back over to Mullen Glass I had some problems with the steering it got really stiff and started to make noise so I check the steering fluid and the clear glass container you could see the filter inside was just below minimum I did not have any to add or I would have I've rented from U-Haul in the past and always have been quite satisfied this was the worst experience I've ever had this vehicle that was rented to me was dangerous and I could have easily gotten in an accident with the steering and the spongy brakes and the overheating engine I don't understand why a truck in this condition would be rented out to anyone even after I pointed out fact the radiator lights and was told as long as it's yellow and not red don't worry about it!! I'm really really disappointed and this experience. To top it off he charge for my rental was $109 I've been playing phone tag with Mullen glass leaving msgs trying to see if there is going to be some kind of discount I checked my account and they reversed the $109 charge but then initiated an $83 charge instead I think this is very unfair considering I spent over $25 on radiator fluid to go 25 miles and back and suffered through the nauseating smell of radiator fluid, not being able to put down both Windows to vent and I tried the windshield wipers to clear the windshield because the radiator fluid was spraying up on the windshield and it made it worse, no windsh

We originally scheduled drop-off at a location that turned out to be under new ownership and no longer doing U-Haul rentals (!) this was terribly inconvenient as we had to drive around trying to find another place to accept the drop-off. McMullen Glass was the savior of that situation - friendly, apologetic, and accomodating.

Made my reservation over a month in advance for pick up in Concord, CA. Day before got email that I had to pick up in Pinole, CA. Was treated awful by traffic when I called to ask why I was being set 5 cities away for pick up. When I got to pick up location I was told they didn't have a truck for me. Took 1.5 hours for you to get me in a truck. This will be the last time I EVER use U-Haul. Worst experience I have ever had with your company.

I am pretty unhappy about the multiple apparently preauthorized holds you placed on my card that apparently fell off. You are now coming back and charging me and overstating my account. The whole process was unless and confusing. And now causing an overdraft so very stressful. I saw the changes pending on my account and thought everything was settled. I had no idea this was going to happen and I am very dissatisfied.

From the start, rude, uninformed, and generally incapable of even the smallest task. I brought the truck back after a long ordeal trying to secure it from a reservation, and the lady at the counter runs out as I was trying to park it and says: "you can't park that thing here!". I tell her, "where would you like me park your truck". "over on the street. I'll move my care". Total pro. the fuel gauge read slightly below the 1/4 tank mark and she charged me $30 dollars. great end to a crappy situation. I will NEVER in my life use uHaul and I will never recommend this service to anyone I value.
