Not a U-Haul company location but a gas station affiliate. Gas Station personnel could barely speak English - had to convince attendant that the gas tank wasn't full - slightly used so I could pump gas into it $14. Charged me a full day charge because truck was returned 32 minutes late - a small grace period is allowed by rental companies so customers don't have to pay a full days charge if returned within the hour. Finally, I am disputing the $70 insurance charge - I did not ask or want insurance but was told it was part of the paperwork I signed. There are disclosures laws covering this in New York and every rental agency verbally offers the insurance and allows customers to decline on their forms. Foisting insurance i didn't need or want and charging me almost as much as the rental cost is unethical and dishonest and I came away from my dealings with U Haul feeling I dealt with a very unscrupulous company seeking every opportunity to take unfair advantage over its customer to fleece them of as much money as they can get away with. Will never recommend U-Haul for this reason.

I was scheduled to use the self pick-up option, but this was not possible. Even after confirming my rental via telephone & going thru the first few necessary steps in the Uhaul email, the website said “no equipment has been assigned to this rental”. I tried several times and I was still not allowed to proceed with self-check. There was a phone number to contact “for service 24 hours a day” (845-857-3113); however, I called 2x, left a voicemail, & even now several days later, I never received a return phone call. Subsequently, I went into the gas station location & spoke to the attendant who was able to locate my reservation; however, this took over 45 minutes & my husband had to assist the attendant with the Uhaul computer system because he was unable to process our rental. I was VERY disappointed in the unavailable self-service option, the EXTREMELY poor customer service via telephone, and the slow service at the station itself. Additionally, upon return of the vehicle, the attendant attempted to charge my husband an extra $25 for using “extra miles” even though we were 9 miles before the allotted amount. I will NOT be using Uhaul again and I would NOT recommend this to any family or friends.

Employee told us we could not drop Uhaul off at his location, recommended we drive half a mile down the road to drop it off without further explanation. I asked for a number to call and make sure we could drop it off. He told me to google it myself. He finally gave me the regional office number, and when I called it became clear the location he recommended would not have accepted our Uhaul either. Did not explain late fee charges and was clearly not happy he had to accept the vehicle.

There was only one person there is service Uhaul customers, man the gas station and help customers at the convenience store. And the computer kept crashing or something - he had to keep deleting my reservation and entering manual. It was a mess! I felt very sorry for the beleaguered employee!

It would helpful if the van was clean inside and out. It was very dusty, muddy and sandy. Also, it is important to let the customer know very explicitly and clearly from the beginning of the transactions online and on the app that they are responsible for filling the van back up with gas. The word "gas" never came up until we turned the van in. The responsibility for gas should be clear and not hidden in the fine print.

This is a very busy location and there was only one person working. I had to wait 30 minutes while he was helping others even though I was there first. It then took him another 15 minutes to get it on the computer and print it. There were 2 vans and he never came to show me which one. While I was inside I asked some questions and he had no idea. He charged me $12 for 3 gallons of gas because he could not come out and help show me to open the fuel tank. Not pleased at all with lack of any help that. I was essentially handed the keys and then totally on my own! I was also lead to understand that there would be a ramp on the vehicle. There was none & I didn't have time to go back and ask since I had already spent so much time waiting. The van was filled with about 7 empty drink bottles and debris. The van was easy to handle and the AC was good. I was surprised that when backing up there was no "alert sound".

Van was dirty in the cab and cargo area. Couldn't get a receipt or contract when I picked it up because their printer didn't work. Employee was friendly. Price was average. Printer worked later and was given paperwork when I returned.

Good experience! Only hiccup was the increased price per mile! I rented the same 10' truck on Tuesday at .99 a mile and today I was charged 1.19! The manager tried to explain its based on mileage and would be cheaper driving 100 miles. That's fine but I traveled around 80 miles both times and was charged two different amounts. Not cool uhaul

Over 1 hour wait to get the truck. The location did everything it was supposed to do, it was UHaul's technical glitch, however it was a NIGHTMARE!!!! Uhaul transferred the location of the reservation and didn't fix it internally creating a lot of problems for both us and the location. 100% avoidable and no remorse from Uhaul. Note, you do have to wait for gas-paying clientele to complete their transactions before they process the Uhaul reservation. Luckily, it was slow.

When you rent a U-haul one of the perks is that you can drop it off at the closest store to you, instead of driving it back to the location you picked it up at. This location tries to charge you double if you do not drop it back off to them which is a huge inconvenience when you are moving over an hour away from it. Thankfully, the employees at the New Windsor location where I dropped off the U-haul was very kind and generous towards me. I would recommend that location any day of the week. They really helped me out a lot!!

Everything was horrible. 1.5 hours to process the the pick up. Later discovered i was over charged. Van was disgusting and filty. Drop off was scheduled for the next day beccause the drop off location was closed. This was unbenounced to me until i was in the middle of transport and recd a call from Uhaul. I went to the drop off location anyways and there was a key drop box. The whole experience from pick up to drop off was horrific.

Very small dealership with only 2 or 3 trucks but was the only one within 50 miles of my home with a 10 foot truck. I had to drive 25 miles to get the truck and then drive 25 miles IN THE WRONG DIRECTION to get to my home BEFORE starting my trip. The dealer did not know how to give me 50 extra miles to compensate for my extra miles.
