When dropping off a vehicle you should not discuss condition issues not caused by the customer. This made me feel very anxious and nervous that I was then going to be charged far more money for causing damage to a vehicle that I did not cause. Also, tell your customer to take their own photographs of the vehicle before leaving so you also can prove these claims. It was a very disappointing drop off.

Imagine going to a restaurant and instead of bringing you the check the server simply takes your wallet and pulls out all the money he wants. That is exactly what is happening at u-haul on poway road. I rented a small truck for 1 hour to move a small wooden dresser one block to my apartment. The next day I saw a charge of $130. The Wells Fargo fraud investigator told me they were processing another charge for $170 later I saw another pending charge for $252. It's really scary that businesses can make unauthorized charges without even giving a verbal or written notice. Now, 1 week later, Travis Cochran the regional manager in Oceanside is telling me there was a tiny 1/2 inch scratch. I advised him that the small wooden dresser I moved did not touch the paint nor could it have caused a scratch. I don't know how much more money they will take or how these charges are going through even after canceling the card. No business has the right to charge your card without your knowledge. If they wanted to claim damages and charge me for a scratch they should have notified me before I even left the premises. They could have even called or texted me after I left. To this day, I have no written or verbal assurance that they will stop charging my card, a complete and true total, nor a simple receipt. Travis Cochran agreed that this was handled inappropriately but refuses to refund me. He claims the contract gives him the right to automatically charge any amount without my knowledge. This is illegal, coercive and deceitful. Please be aware of these criminals.

Make sure the truck are maintained and checked out. Ours had a battery light issue, that kept coming on and sounding the alarm when we turned off the ignition. Had to cycle starting the vehicle on and off to get the light to go out and the alarm to go off, frustrating. Alternator issue? Also the manual window crank knob kept coming off when operating the window.

I called 2 times prior to my rental date as well as visited the location 2 times to make sure that everything would be in order for the day of my rental (and move). I went through a lengthy process of verifying my info and my son's info (he would pick the truck up) as well as my credit card info and asked a multitude of times if my son could pick the truck up without myself present to give my credit card again the day of the rental. Clearly I was misinformed because I had to drive down and give my info and credit card again that morning; that time cost me $150 as I was paying my movers for the hour and a half that it took me to do so. Very very disappointed; everyone that I interacted with prior to the day of my rental was very professional and friendly and I felt confident that I was well informed. Aside from that, the wait time for your computer system was excessively long.

You need to provide better trucks, the truck I rented is an old truck and the driving wasn't smooth compared to another U-Haul truck that I drove before this one back in 2019. With reference to another reservation that I did online, it was was terrible and frustrating. I reserved a U-Haul truck about 3 weeks before the pick date on October 27 from Temecula to Poway and a week before a U-Haul representative called me to check my flexibility because I needed a truck one way they said they will confirm a day before the Scheduled pick up before 6pm. On October 25 they emailed the confirmation of the pick up date, location and time then on October 26 I got another email updating the time and asked me to call U-Haul customer service and another email for a $50 refund!!!!?? Whattt, finally I went in person on October 26 to the U-Haul location in Temecula that they sent to me earlier only to find out that there is no truck assigned to my reservations yet so the only easy way to guarantee a truck I had to make a two way reservation from poway and return the truck to poway. On the same day October 26 I suppose to get a confirmation call before 6pm In regards to my online earlier reservation , they called me after 7pm to confirm the order that I cancel it out because I already made another reservation in person. The whole experience with online reservation was frustrating to me and I won't rent a truck through online reservation in the future. Eventually, I ended up paying for an extra 50 miles for a two way from poway to Temecula just to be rest assured that I can move on the exact planned date of moving due to a work related reason.

Drop off was good. It wasn't until I got there that I found out the truck should have been cleaned and sanitized prior to me picking up. Again I don't fault the pick up location so much as u-haul being lazy about the one way trucks. I won't use u-haul again for one way moves. This is not a reflection on the pick up or drop off locations as much as the one way corporate service sucked.

Keep up the great customer service. The staff was friendly and exceptionally helpful getting me setup and reviewing the after hours drop off, insuring that my pickup and drop-off were easy. My pads were inadvertently left off of the order and the management team was really accommodating about making sure I did not get billed for the oversight. My customer experience at this location was exceptional.

Jose was courteous and patient. 10 foot truck again was the perfect size to move fragile mod\el railroad platform(s) . Location is perfect al always. I missed seeing the guys and gal who have helped me save my trains and artifacts. I have dealt with this location since 1993, yes that is 27 years!

The paperwork, even after doing it all on-line, still takes way too long in the store. It is a waste of time for both of us. There must be a better way for your to manage the processing of rentals, especially for frequent rental customers.

We had rented a certain size truck and were contacted by phone the day before and made aware that the truck we ordered wasn't going to be available. Consequently, they gave us the next size up which was huge. It was disappointing that we rented in advance and didn't get what we had ordered.
