My van was not ready by the requested time, and when I tried to pick it up using the mobile app, it said there was no equipment reserved for me. The number it gave me to call was clearly a personal number and it was difficult to figure out what was going on (kids crying in the background, etc.) Ultimately despite the store being closed, some employees were there who helped get the van ready for me, but it was probably at least 30 minutes delay after my requested time. Everyone I spoke with at this location was friendly and helpful, moreso just not a smooth process picking up my van.

Truck was not cleaned and there was broken glass in mom’s attic. The hood was not patched after they checked the oil. They forgot both of the dollies I reserved and was charged for! The lock on the back was not operable.

I was at two locations. The one on midlothian turnpike in the 1600 block that made me a reservation at a second place. That transaction ended with the lady saying "go ahead and go" I was like... What? She said it again. And I figured out that the transaction was over and it was time for me to "go ahead and go" to the other location to pick up my truck. I get there and explain the situation the guy says " oh you're better off just going to the other location" I'm just immediately like couldn't there be another location open on Sunday handled by someone who's not.l, well in the ghetto to be nice. This guy ends up figuring out there's one more truck available after looking in the computer after I asked him to and a long-winded explanation. He couldn't spell the word paddle and got mad when I corrected him and said hey man it's a D in paddle not a t. So he wrote padle and I corrected him again because this was the email address and needed it correct. He didn't like that. And when we got back you couldn't do math I had to correct his math so you guys would get the correct charge. He was missing an extra 100 miles. It would be nice to ha e other locations open on Sunday more around where I lived. This was a drive for mediocre ghetto service.

I was sent to this location because the Jefferson Davis location had lost power. I was not scheduled to pickup the U-Haul van until 6:30 p.m. Consequently, I was displeased when I could not pickup the van at the location where I reserved it. On top of everything, it was pouring down raining. The gentlemen who assisted me at the Belt Boulevard location had good customer service skills and renewed my trust in U-Haul.

The first problem was that it made no sense that I had to get the auto transport form a different location (Henrico, Virginia), which cost me an hour of driving time and threw off my moving help. Reservations should be first come, first serve. If they were supposed to have the truck and the auto transport at the same location on the date of my reservation, both should have been held for me. The auto transport should not have been given to someone else if my reservation came before theirs. Second, management was no help at all with the auto transport when I came back to get my car. The manager told an employee who had never hooked up an auto transport before to direct me to the YouTube video instead of coming outside and supervising him as he tried to help me. As if the manager refusing to help us wasn't bad enough, the video featured up-to-date equipment--not the shabby, outdated equipment that the Henrico, Virginia location had.
