I had an issue with identity theft in 2016 that I was made aware of in early 2017 and took care of, one of the items was a rented Uhaul in LA (I am from SF) I went to the SFPD filed the necessary report and sent it off a year ago to your main office to clear my name. I had made the reservation over a month ago for my 4/20 rental - at that time, if there was still an issue (and there was) a flag should have been raised then with my DL # and I could have resnet the police report. Instead, I had to find this out 30 min before my movers were meant to arrive and work with your office to resend and clear. In addition, the manager all but told me he didn't trust us to not steal his truck. I am not trying to be tacky; but we drive a very expensive BMW (which this same manager commented on) and we clearly are not short a few pennies by our outward appearance. This was highlighted to express how offended I am; we are not thieves and our addresses are down the street from the place we rented. It was insulting to be told, in so many words, that he didn't trust us.

U-Haul is the company many people associate with moving but my experience yesterday is making me question ever trying to trust them with my moving needs again. I reserved to have my 10' truck at 8AM on Sunday 4/8/18. I arrived at 8AM for my reservation, opened the app on my phone, and the app tells me that no vehicle has been attached to my reservation and to call a local Sacramento number to get it resolved. I called the number several times, only to find me getting sent to the voicemail but not being able to leave a message because the caller's inbox is full. This experience was extremely frustrating as I had specifically rented the truck for 8 AM but could not do anything for an hour because no one was at the store location and no one was picking up my call. I had hired a couple guys in the area to help move my furniture into the truck but had to pay an extra hour for them to sit around because I was unable to get the truck. It is extremely frustrating because I had pre-planned all of the moving activities but it ended up costing me in the end when my only role as the customer is to indicate very basic details like time and date of rental. Whether it is an issue with the national schedulers or the local store, no one from U-Haul paid enough attention to the order to see that a customer had scheduled a 24/7 pickup, a service that you advertise all over your website and note that the specific store in Sacramento is able to provide. I also was sent two final invoices for two different final totals. I have no idea what invoice I can refer to because they are for the same reservation number. This experience with U-Haul left little to be desired.

If you rent a vehicle from uhaul, they'll send you spam begging for a survey. They give you no way to opt out of this, and ignore emailed requests to take you off the list. So they'll get a negative review from me every time I rent from now until they knock it off.

When a vehicle is returned it would be a nice touch for the person meeting the vehicle to check the cab in case the customer left items behind. I got a few blocks before I discovered I'd left a hat in the cab and came back to pick it up.

Had a 6:00 pick up reservation, arrived at 5:30 hoping to pick it up early, didn’t leave until 6:30. Slllooooooowwwww for a Friday night, one would think you could staff better! Finished my moving a few hours early, stopped to get gas and ended up putting in about 2 gallons more than I should have. No credits for retiring it early. No credits for over-filling the tank. No chance of me ever using uhaul again. I wanted to support my AZ based company, but I can find somewhere else for my future moving needs.

My only complaint is that although U-haul is a major distributor when it comes to vehicle rental usage, they act like a start up company. They need to tighten up on how they run their company to make the flow more conducive to the needs of its customers. The flow isn’t smooth. I would suggest a SWOT analysis of their overall process

I asked for a dolly and when I arrived at the moving site the hand truck was not in the back. This created a lot of heavy lifting. I called your office to have a hand truck delivered and they said they don’t do that. They offered to credit me the money for the hand truck and my respond was I don’t need $7.00 dollars what I need is the HAND TRUCK!!!!!
