I reserved a van and went to pick it up the next day. The only man behind the counter, approximately 40-ish, served an elderly black gentleman ahead of me. I noticed a distinct rudeness and impatience with this senior citizen but did not think much of it. Then came my turn. I presented my reservation that had my phone number on it. The clerk asked if this was a mobile phone but I told him it was a landline. I do not use a mobile phone because of electro-hypersensitivity but can tolerate other people using them. The clerk then suspected me of giving him a fake phone number, which was quite insulting to me. He "threatened" to call the number and I encouraged him to do so. He did and convinced himself of the veracity of the number. Then he asked for an alternate number. I offered another valid number, at which point he insisted that it had to be a mobile number. I offered the cell phone number of my wife, who at the time waited for me in a nearby restaurant. He insisted that the phone needed to be physically in front of him or "how else would he be able to call me". At this point his treatment became almost hostile while I was taken aback by the seemingly insurmountable problem of not having a cell phone in front of him that he could make ring. U-Haul requires a phone number and an alternate number, nowhere does it state it had to be a cell phone. Obviously the clerk made up new rules on-the-fly and his demeanor clearly indicated that he disliked his job. Fortunately, the U-Haul location in West Sacramento was very friendly and even saved me some money on the rental. Beware of the 2830 Broadway location.

I have been an CustomerService manager for 7 years. I feel exceptional customer service is the backbone of any successful business. Your manager Mark was the worst part of my experience.. he was unprofessional, aggressive and quite frankly rude. I will not use this company again, based on this experience. It should be noted that the rest of the team at the Broadway location was very helpful, courteous and professional. I did file a complaint with your customer service as well.

I received several texts & emails stating my van would be available first on Pell Drive then on Gardenland. When we arrived at Gardenland at 9 am it was closed with a note saying will return at 11 am. We had an art show we were showing at at 10 am. We then drove to Pell Drive and the same thing. Then we drove all across town to Broadway where we had to wait in line almost 45 minutes( the line was out the door). By the time we got to the art show to set up it was noon. This was totally unacceptable and I feel Uhal owes me something for the two hours of business we lost!!

The sign out front that reads "guaranteed reservation" is meaningless. They gave away my truck without calling me, and the owner was completely indifferent to my plight; almost rude. He wouldn't even look me in the eye to talk to me. I was a multiple-time repeat customer, but will never go back. I also had a friend that this happened to - he rode his bike to pick up his truck and they wanted to send him to another location that was too far to ride to. Apparently, we're not the only ones who feels this way - look at their Yelp reviews. Do not use this location!

It would be nice if there was more than one person checking people in to pick up a vehicle and unfortunately, I've used several U-Haul locations in and around Sacramento. Returning the vehicle was faster thanks to modern technology.

We reserved an auto hauler 7 days in advance, upon picking it up we were told the trailer they had was too heavy with the towing vehicle for our Ford F250 SD diesel super cab truck by 1500 lbs..... which is not true at all. We had to drive an extra 50+ miles to pick up a lighter weight auto hauler which defeated the purpose of making a reservation in advance. The Uhaul software needs to be updated to reflect actual weight allowable for trucks. Very disappointed in Uhaul, again.

My reservation was set for the incorrect date and then cancelled. I was told to show up to the S St location first thing at 9am only to find they were not open until 11am. I had to scrabble to get a van on the Broadway location. Luckily one was available

3 items need to be improved: 1)Inform me first that I am paying for the estimated charges in advance in lieu of upon return of equipment. 2) When extending the rental; please let me know that only the corporate uhaul company is authorized for this; furthermore please inform the dealer of this as to avoid them from calling me each day as if I am over due with their equipment. 3) when I arrived prior to 3:30 but received my equipment at 3:54 why must it be returned by 3:30? 4) when no miles were placed on my rental why did they charge me for 1 mile anyway?

Overloaded with work the team can't support customers in timely fashion. Customers wait long time, even for the shortest service. The team works hard; however, not really smart. With so many customer and very little resources it is important that the team would work efficiently - a customer who wants to purchase a box shouldn’t wait for .5 hr. for someone else rental transaction completion!

My experience was pretty flawless, I booked online and that's the only error thourghout the entire transaction. I had wanted to book at the location on El Camino and mistakenly booked at the Broadway one. However, considering I was in and out in minutes I was extremely pleased with the Broadway location which by the way is a location I've used in the past.
