Waited in line too long for service.



First I reserved a truck and a dolly 5 days prior to pick up on 9/16, however there was no truck available. So rented a dolly and used my sons pick up. It took 9 trips which cause me to have to finish on Sunday 9/17. I had to pay 1 days rent at my former residence and I could not bring the dolly back at the scheduled time of 8:00. When returned the dolly once I finally got finished at 4;30 a young lady told me that they have to charge for two days rental. She said the truck and the dolly are two different rentals. That I did not understand considering In reserved them both at the same time. How could they charge me for something they caused by not having my truck. The young lady never apologized for my in convenience, she just kept saying I have to charge you for two days rental for the dolly. She finally said I will put your contract on hold until tomorrow and referred me to . I spoke with Pedro who was very nice and professional. Although he still charged 1 days rental for the dolly which I feel should have been loaned to me at no charge since they had no truck. The worker on Saturday that I rented the dolly from should have extended my return time. The employees at this location are in desperate need of training and could also use some people skills. I will not be using this location again for any reason.

SElf check in service was a joke. Diane was one of the terrible verifiers who kept sending me back to the photo verification without info. When I was finally able to ask in the convo area before being redirected for the 3rd time, she said she could not do self check in for us and we would have to go inside. The guy inside said he couldnt do anything since we did self checkout. Ridiculous circle!!! Wasted 45 min. Haaate UHAUL



I reserved my truck on Wednesday, went to pick it up at 1230 only to be told that the individual who was using the truck prior did not bring it back, leaving me with no truck to use. The solution offered to me by the males working that day was that I could call other uhaul locations to find a new truck when I had movers arriving in 30 minutes. After arguing with the staff for 20 minutes I was able to get them to let me rent one of the two vans on the site. The can I was given had no gas cap, how low tire pressure, and the entire van smelled like weed. The only silver lining was when I returned the van later and a very friendly lady apologized for my poor experience. I would not recommend this location. I do hope they get some staff in there that understand customer service.

The manager needs to help the customer when he booked a 10 ft truck he should arrange or get a 10 ft truck for customer and give him 17 ft truck there was behind why customer wants 10 ft truck. The manager needs to go management classes to learn how to manage a u haul company

The pickup of my rental was actually the second location with an available van that I reserved. While doing the pre-rental walk around, the rep asked me to verify the mileage. I leaned into the van to check the odometer and the smell was AWFUL! It seemed to me to be caused by body odors and/or rotting biological materials combined, possibly coming from the fabric seats since most of the van was hard surfaces and rubber mat throughout. It was nauseating enough that I asked the rep to do something about it. He offered to spray the seats with something to improve the smell. After leaving the location, my passenger became alarmed and disgusted by the smell as well. We spent the majority of the rental time with the a/c fans on high and the windows down because it was not tolerable. There were also other disappointing experiences with the rental process that led to my hasty departure with this van because I was now behind schedule and needing to continue my day with this rental. I knew there were no other vans available at this location. Going to a third location was not reasonable for me so I hoped it would improve, but it did not.....It was a long day driving in the cab of this van. The cleaning process in between renting should definitely improve. There were a couple of other people who helped with the loading and unloading of cargo who stated how horrible the inside smelled and we never even mentioned it previously!



Tire pressure light kept coming on and was disturbing was not advised or briefed about same to ignore. As the facility was aware of same. Otherwise very customer friendly place though not close to where I originally had planned to rent from. Extra mileage to drive to pick and return, when there were many uhaul within 5 miles radius where I wanted to rent from and had tried to book a month earlier from date required.

The only issue that I have with this location is that when I walked in there was a person who waved me over to the middle counter and there was a girl waiting there and as I walked up her body language was terrible I got no acknowledgement whatsoever and I had to hesitate and ask her if she was able to help me after that I still got no response someone else had to acknowledge me. This girl was very off putting and makes me not want to return to this location. She acted like she did not want to be there and gave terrible service if that's what you call it. Someone should ask her if she really wants to work there and if she doesn't then separate her from your business

Great experience except I was not made aware that the 10 foot truck didn't have a ramp. But once I discovered this the staff changed my reservation to a 17 foot truck and I was on my way. The inconvenience wad minimal. Manuel was very helpful and quickly fixed the problem

UHaul is a pathetic shell of what it used to be. I blame that on its corporate management structure, not on the poor souls who are trying to make a living working at this location. It was clear from the moment I stepped onto the site (which is an actual UHaul site, not a gas station) that UHaul purposely understaffs its sites in order to save a dollar. On a Friday morning, the first of the month, before a long weekend, before a big local festival famous for people who rent from UHaul to go to it, there was one person behind the counter. One person. There were 3 people in line in front of me when I went in at approximately 10:00 a.m. to pick up a mattress cover and find out about any back ups that might be in place if the self check out cell phone system did not work because no one would be on site to assist if something went wrong. I waited for 45 minutes for 3 people to be helped before I had my question answered. I was told that the office would be open until 8:00 p.m. -- a plus for uhaul. When I arrived at 7:15 to pick up the van, the office was open but there was no one behind the counter. I wandered around looking for someone for a few minutes. Finally someone walked in, but she was either frustrated at being one of two people apparently on site on this busy pick up evening or she was just rude. She gave the impression that she was in a hurry and was annoyed at having to help a customer. She became extremely rude when I asked why the price she was quoting me was $100 more than the estimate I'd received when I made the reservation online. Neither she nor a second employee who showed up 5 minutes into the transaction could explain the discrepancy. They both seemed resigned and explained that the online system is "glitchy." Having no other option that Friday evening before a weekend move (something uhaul knows well about its customers), I agreed to pay the higher price. 30 miles into the 500-mile move I was making, the "Change oil" indicator came on, which gave me even more reason to doubt Uhaul's effectiveness. Luckily, the truck had no other mechanical issues. When I returned it on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., the "take a photo" portion of the self return cell phone system did not work and because of that, I could not complete the return process online. I called the uhaul number and got a recording. So I called the 24-hour roadside assistance number in order to speak to a live person. The operator sounded as though this situation was normal and explained that the system is "glitchy." He advised me to take photos with my phone and drop the key in the slot. I feel sorry for the people who work at uhaul and have to continuously explain that their system has glitches. They've obviously been doing it long enough that they don't even feel the need to apologize to customers who have been inconvenienced. I recommend that uhaul expand its feedback questions above so they include questions about the overall uhaul experience and aren't limited to

I booked to pick up at the Elk Grove location, drove there and was told the 1 trailer in my size was reserved for someone else even though I had a conf # for picking up there. They said I know drive about 40 mins in traffic to another location. Complete waste of time and my plan. They said someone should have called and told me but checking my call log, 100% no one called Up arriving the girl at the counter had an attitude and after driving for about 30 miles and stopping to get gas I saw the wires were dragging on the ground. The girl at the counter with the attitude was also the same as hook up. She certainly took her time making me wait for my hook up. I should have gone to Southside Rentals, their service is excellent.

I was over charged during contract time even though I brung the truck back a day before it was due within the time frame to not have extra charges, my customer service experience was not pleasant the clerk did not see the information on my contract as the time the was updated I was not treated fairly by this error and my funds were taken not a good experience will not use this location again ..

The gas marked on the rental form was alot higher than the actual truck. When I brought this to the attention of the person at the return, he said iy happens a lot. This seems like a scam and I have reported this to the CA attorney General, News 10 and News 3. They will be inquiring into it.
