The staff at the St. Paul sites were helpful and proactive; however, Uhaul as a company needs to work on providing accurate information from their call centers and keeping accurate notes in customers' files. We had so many miscommunications throughout our moving process. While making arrangements to pick up our uboxes, we were told (by the call center) that we would be able to tow 2 uboxes on a trailer using a pickup truck. When we showed up after renting a pickup at a different Uhaul location, we learned that this was false, and we would not be able to pick up either of our boxes that day because the call center had not given the onsite staff adequate time to forklift our boxes (it takes at least 24 hours, which is totally reasonable). The on-site staff seemed exasperated by the miscommunications from the call center, and I felt sorry for them! The next mishap came when we returned on Day 2 (after staff kindly offered to give us a free day on our pickup rental) to find that the staff at our shipping site had padlocked our boxes with locks no one had the key to (they had not informed us that we needed to padlock the boxes ourselves). Again, the St. Paul Como staff were exasperated but helpful, and managed to cut the locks off for us. Finally, on Day 4 when we returned the boxes and pickup truck (after picking up and returning our boxes one at a time), there were different staff members working and the staff person who gave us the free day's use of the pickup had not left a note in our file, which meant they tried to charge us for 3 days instead of 2. Again, the staff person was friendly and changed our bill, but only after rolling his eyes at the lack of notes.

The tank of fuel was at 1/4 level, which I was made aware of. However, I believe every effort should be made to send the truck out with a full load. I had a close schedule and 200 miles to drive so the need to stop at the outset was not appreciated. The key was difficult to turn in the ignition, requiring me to rock the wheel back and forth to free it up. Several times I felt it might not unlock.

I reserved a furniture dolly, they did not have it. I thought that is what reserved meant. The CC machine would not work, declined my card three times.....I had plenty of money in the account.

When reserving the pick up, the representative added a 4 hour timeframe. I said I didn't know how long I'd need the truck, but she said she just needed to put something in -- so I thought it was a soft 4 hours. On the day of the rental, I was told that somebody else would be needing the pick up after 4 hours and I had to return it by then. I returned it without completing my task -- I ran out of time. When I returned it, there were two other pick ups on the lot and only two customers inside. So I'm slightly dissatisfied that this time requirement was imposed and apparently was unnecessary.

First time renter here. The experience was terrific from start to finish. I showed up without a reservation and the staff were friendly, courteous, and helped me select the right vehicle and walked me through the charges. I liked knowing all the fees and things ahead of time. I was under pressure to get the rental quickly (the recycling center was closing in 45 minutes) so the guy at the counter helped me get through all the signatures and whatnots quickly. The vehicle was clean and in good shape. It did the job and got me there on time. It was just the right size, as the CSR recommended. Getting in and out of the U-Haul facility on University Ave was very easy. It's easy to find the location, easy to pull in to the return area, and easy to get out. The office inside is very clean. Lots of customers, but they run a tight ship, so everybody was smiling and in a good mood. The guy who checked me in on return was also polite and friendly and got my bill settled in no time at all. All in all a great experience. Thanks U-Haul!
