I was satisfied with the rental procedure, as there wasn't much effort needed since I did all the work online. But I will say the explanation of services offered by U-Haul was very poor. When it came to the guy behind the desk explaining "roadside assistance" being covered for free by U-Haul, that was the biggest misuse of information. Apparently the use of "roadside assistance" should have been "mechanical breakdown". I had to learn this the hard way. The 10ft, empty truck's rear tires got stuck in a sand driveway, in Poteet, TX. Because it was explained prior to signing paperwork that roadside was covered, I expected a tow would be covered. But after speaking to customer service, I was told because it was "customer fault" and not any "breakdown" of the actual truck, a tow would not be covered and I would need to pay $200 out of pocket. How was I supposed to know the truck tires would loose grip in a sand drive way? So apparently, if a customer ran over a nail and had a flat tire, locked himself out of the truck, or got stuck in mud/sand, roadside would not cover because all those occasions would be customer's fault. The way I see it, I am renting a U-Haul truck in place of my vehicle, and if you tell me I have "roadside" covered for free, I am thinking "roadside" is the same thing I have on my personal vehicle. Why was it so hard to explain that the actual coverage on the U-Haul is called "mechanical breakdown", meaning if the U-Haul truck were to breakdown because of a fault of the parts of U-Haul's truck, then the repair and service would be covered for free? Very disappointed in the service and misleading information given. I'd rather use my own vehicle to transport my property knowing I have "real" roadside assistance on my vehicle and covered for free. It's expected that when you rent through a rental company, you are making things less stressful and less of an inconvenience, but I was very wrong and will never rent from U-Haul again.

I dropped the traiker off the same day i rented it. Trailer was not checked in until monday afternoon after i was called asking if i needed more time and had to tell them it was already dropped the same day rented.

The general manager Joseph was rude lacking customer service. I felt as if I as a customer was a bother to him. In general he was rude and sarcastic.

I love the company, they always get me out of problems when I have to transport anything. I noticed three people at the location, the one that only spoke English at the counter was very, very helpful and polite and made the pick up paperwork easy to get done, then I noticed a younger guy that I imagine was new since he looked like he was lost in the sause, and the older guy that spoke Spanish that helped me hooking up the trailer, he got it done quickly and did what he was supposed to by making sure my lights were working properly. Overall a great experience for been my first time at this location, thank you!!!

Everyone was very nice helping with the uhaul truck pick up. The only issue was a taco truck blocking part of the driveway when we were leaving. That was not part of the uhaul place though.

Very bad experience reserving a uhaul truck. I reserved a truck online November 2nd 2018. I was called the following day my reservation was canceled due to truck was no longer available. The scheduling department sent me to a location 21.6 miles away to pick up a bigger truck at the same rate for the same reservation date and time period. Upon arriving at the new pick up location I was told to wait and someone would be right with me. I stood in front of front desk for 27 minutes to be exact, with not one uhaul employee inside the store. I then get greeted by a rep, he then starts working on my reservation. He gives me a total of triple the amount I had reserved for and explains to me since the truck was upgraded to a bigger truck I had a different rate and would have to pay a flat rate since it’s the weekend. I began to explain the misshap and how I ended up at that location and didn’t need that size of truck. He cuts me short and asks me to wait for a manager. After 20 mins of waiting I ask where is the manager and he points outside. I head to speak to manager and begin to explain all over again and get told if I wanted to be help I would have to wait when he had time for me and for me to head inside because he is the only skilled person on sight to fix my problem. At that point I have been at this location for an hour and way passed my reservation pick up time. So I call uhaul customer service. I explain my situation and reservation problem for a 3rd time, she was a lot more helpful apologized for everything I had already experienced asks me to give her a few minutes and she would get my reservation right. She gets back on the phone and explains the vehicle is still available at original location and would handle the manager that gave me a hard time. She then sends me for a second trip to the original location Nd everything was resolved. I then arrive and explain for the 4th time and try to complete the new reservation that was booked for me. He then tells me that she double booked me and he could not allow me to take my vehicle because is was already reserved. At this point I’m irritated and just want to get my moving completed so I ask him to give me any size vehicle that was available. He grants my wish and gives me a smaller vehicle for half the reserved time I had asked for. So there I go and work through the night to resturn the vehicle by the morning. Worse experience I have ever had with uhaul.

The truck was in poor working condition. The exhaust was horrible. I'm surprised I didnt get stopped. The gauge light was on not sure what that meant. The truck sounded like it needs a new motor. However the man who helped me was awesome very friendly great customer service. Just fyi maintain your vehicles better. Horrible experience oh to add the truck didn't want to start we had trouble do we dropped off the truck and loaded are car with our boxes.

The truck was gross. It smelled of cigarettes and mold. Brakes squealed and truck needed an alignment (it pulled to the left.) The guy who worked there was extremely rude. This isn't my first time at this location and have had a negative experience every time. I didn't have an option this time but to use them. They were the only one with the truck I needed at the time I needed it. The location I usually use (on highway 90) is wonderful. I will go somewhere else next time I need a truck and this is the only location with my truck. I refuse to ever use them again. Customers should never be treated the way they treat them. Nor should I pay as much as I do for the condition the truck was in. It's nasty!

Charging me 2 days when I only had the truck 1 day.. and not even 24hours at that. Still never got refunded my money for the second day. Went in person to dispute. Sales guy had left a note for the manager not to charge for the 2nd day. As long as I returned it by 8am..
