Extremely horrible experience. I rented a truck for 2 hours and returned it within 2 hours with the way store person told me to do (returned keys and contract in dropbox) but next morning same store person called me and said vehicle is stolen and now it's my responsibility, won't close active contract unless the vehicle is returned. How can it be my responsibility if the vehicle which I returned the way U-haul wanted and got stolen after I returned to U-haul store facility. After two days I got an email for closing active contract and charged me for whole 2 days and the number of miles which I did not drive for. Never ever go to this location. Nobody will help you if something like this happens to you-not even store person, store manager or customer support. Will not recommend this place to anyone. Be aware!
Wayne was a great help, he took me through the whole process of preparing a truck for pick up the next day within a couple minutes. Really felt like he genuinely wanted to make my experience there welcoming
The gas was given to me at less than 1/4 tank and I was still charged for extra gas.
Charged me extra for the fuel, although it was on 5/8. Also location changed at the end
The paperless technology is not easy for customers to figure out themselves. The process was not explained, I receive a text message link then I have to figure it out myself how to review and accept the vehicle and policy while submitting photos of any differences. My girlfriend or parents would not have been able to do this process. The Parking lot is so narrow with parked uhaul vehicles that my girlfriend would not even drive the truck we rented for her to exit.
I rent from this location often for my job and they are always great to work with. The trucks are always clean and well maintained and the staff is attentive to any requests. Great people to work with!
Service people were fine, but I was very disappointed to find that a hand truck was not in the vehicle per my request. It made my move 10x harder, and I ended up having to buy a hand truck nearby. Next time I will be sure to verify.
I got a one-way truck from Pasadena to Mira Mesa (San Diego). I'm not sure which location is at fault - the pick-up location, the drop-off location, or the uHaul system. When I got the uHaul truck at the pick up location, I chose a designated drop-off location in Mira Mesa which was also reflected on the contract when I drove off of the lot. I had my truck for 2 days and I called the drop-off location before returning it to give them a heads up and the very friendly clerk informed me that their lot was full and that my drop-off location was actually in Poway. I vented my frustration at the situation as that was not stipulated in the contract so he spoke to his manager and the manager said to just drop it off at their location. As I was driving to the location, that's when the uHaul system actually sent me a notification text message informing me that my drop-off location had been changed to Poway which is WAY too late of a notification as I was supposed to be dropping it off 20 minutes later. It was a complete failure of the uHaul notification system. When I arrived at the drop-off location I showed the manager my contract and it showed that his location was reflected on the contract as my drop-off point. He looked a bit confused but all he did was call their traffic hotline and they fixed it within minutes. I believe his name was Wayne. He was great. He was great in fixing it but a very terrible uHaul notification system.
