Passenger door does not open from the outside. Very awkward to open it from inside.

The passenger door was broken and would not open , The driver side seat belt would not retract , The engine ran rough at idle and lower RPMs , The truck was dirty. The way in which the customer has to fill up the gas tank to the exact amount it was left before is ridiculous. I tried filling the gas tank to the previous fill point but the sensor was off which led me to put 4 extra gallons of fuel into the truck which I should not have had to pay for. It would be so much easier to give the customer a full tank and return the truck with a full tank back to the U-Haul drop off center. It is such a pain in the butt to get the fuel level to the amount it originally came with, especially when the gauge is not working properly. Why make it more difficult for the customer that is already in a hurry? Long story short.. Tank should come full, you guys already charge the customer who doesn't fill the tank so fill it up and make our lives a bit easier,

Filthy truck. At vehicle pickup, people working at that time need to improve there customer service skill set. Turned vehicle in earlier than initial expectations. Was 1 hour 24 minutes into the 5th day of rental and was charged for another full day. Cmon, charged for another full day? I only put 28 miles on the truck and brought it back with more fuel than what it left with—Uhaul should pay me back—they would definitely charge me if had more miles or if the tank was low or if I returned it 1hour 24 minutes into another day.



The windshield was so dirty inside and out that I could not drive safely. I had to clean inside grease splatter all over. The cab smelled like horse manure. Staff very terse and not friendly. Not at door twice. Made customer call them. Please preserve my confidentiality. Thank you.

Trailer was picked up and drove 5 miles to load location. Before travel to unload location checked tire pressure, assumed done at rental location. Passenger rear tire was at 25 psi. Drove 1 mile to facility that could air tire. While airing tire American tire tech noticed air was leaking and found nail in tire. Tech repaired tire and said nail was worn down, more than it would have been if pickup in the 6 miles it had been driven. Two things: The wear of the nail shows the rental location did not complete safety inspection of trailer before renting. Two we contacted rental facility asking if they could air up tire, no call 1800 uhaul. Thanks to th3 outstanding service at American Tire we were able to have the tire fixed and only lost 1 hour driving time versus the estimated 1 1/2 it would take the 1800 uhaul to respond. Trip continued with no further delays.

I turned in a "reserved" Appliance Dolly in Colorado shortly after picking up the truck because I realized I didn't need it. In California they told me there was a problem b/c I didn't have the dolly. I explained what happened and they made me call Colorado to deal with it. Why couldn't they do that?

This location was the second location that I was sent to. The first location did not open at the time I was told and when I did contact the 800 Reservation line, I was told that my reserved trailer was not available. The Customer Representative that the trailer I was reserved was extended for an additional 4 days to the previous rental. I never received a call or email to advise me of the issue. I had a confirmation number and email, but my trailer had been given away, with no replacement in the San Luis Obispo area. The Customer Representative was able to find a 15' truck at this second location that was available for 24 hours. When I arrived at the second location, the owners advised me they could not rent the truck to me, because it was going out the next day at 9:00AM. After getting on the phone with the 800 Customer Representative from the second location, the owners said they would rent the 15' truck if I had it back, no later then 8:45 AM the next day. This was a total mess and really made a bad mark against U-Haul in my mind.

Not workers fault from what I understand but 8am reservation was changed to 1 because rep told me they had no 10' trucks until 1. Called at 10:30 next day and hoped for early availability and rep at location said rental had been ready at 8am. Not sure who manages reservations but they need retraining. This was not a great experience .

Thi is not a typical U-Haul location so its kind of tough location to pick-up or return U-Haul trailers.

Agents must learn to keep promises and learn proper procedure for reporting extensions. The lady who rented me the U-Haul truck said we would not be charged another day if we turned it in early Tuesday morning, but we were. Terrible experience.

TERRIBLE customer service, the guy renting the trucks would not walk out and go over any part of the truck, he said it was checked at the time is was previously returned. Also, the gas was not at a quarter of a tank, it was approximately 3.5 gal below, and since uhaul policy it to never rent a truck below one quarter of a tank, this was unacceptable. He got mad at me and offered $5.00 to make the difference, and at 3.5 gallons it would cost approximately $11.50 to make up for it. When I declined the $5.00 he became frustrated and said, "fine I will just give you a different truck, he then brought that truck to the doors, said gas is good, also at a qtr of tank, we checked it. That was good, but he did refuse to go over the truck, for anything. We then drove off, really bad customer service. I personally worked at a storage facility and rented uhauls for 2 years. Loved the job! He also got into a argument with his coworker while conducting rental. I had the truck for 24hrs with 67miles allowed. I used 58.4 miles. Problem was when I returned the truck, they guy didn't change trucks correctly in system and the ending milage input resulted in a 24hr travel time with 10789.2 miles driven. I was then hit with a $11,058.52 milage.fee, $40.00 fee for truck and tax and environment fee, insurance fee. I was definitely seeing a stroke coming on. I am transferring for new job, not at all how I planned to start it off. Thankfully, I know people, great guy, and he helped me get this fixed. Thank you to the Uhaul Moving and Storage 150 vulcan Dr, Lompoc CA! Awesome and good people!
