The girl who helped us rent the U-hual seemed less then thrilled to be there. No smile, not friendly and gave us inaccurate information. She said that they were open until 8PM, and that we would be able to leave our car parked and still get it out as long as we returned by 8PM. We came in, with a confirmed reservation at 5PM, by the time we were finished with paper work it was about 530PM. Knowing we were only moving two big items, from a storage unit a few blocks away from the U-haul place. To a house that was only a 15 min drive from there, we told her we would be back by 730PM to get our car. We arrived at the U-haul location at 7:35PM, to find it closed and the gate shut and locked with our car inside. I knocked on the door, called the store multiple time and got no response. We would have parked out car somewhere else if we had known that it was possible they were going to close up early. So we left the rental truck, dropped the keys in the door slot and had to arrange and pay for an Uber to take us home. Then again, arrange and pay for an Uber to take me back to the U-haul place to pick up our car once they opened. Which also, made it so I was late for work that morning. Completely unacceptable from a guest stand point. She had mine and my husbands cell numbers. She could have called and told us they were closing early, see if we were close by, or given us a warning that they were shutting the gate. Anything... other than what was done. I am a restaurant General Manager, and have been for over 12 years. Providing friendly, reliable and helpful customer service is key, in maintaining a return customers. I feel like none of those things were done in regards to our experience with this U-haul location. I have used the one on Newport Blvd multiple times, and never ran into any issues. I had an 8am reservation when the shop is scheduled to open. Both employees arrived to work at 8:15. No apology for being late. Interior of van was filthy. I had to vacuum myself.

It would be great if this location had parking available for customers, for returning U-Haul to this location. It would good customer service to also be able to return the U-haul at a different location once customer has unloaded the truck. It is illogical, and not a good business practice to make returning the U-Haul back to this location mandatory, and to parking it on public streets where parking is incredibly restricted and parking ordinances in the city cannot accommodate the size of a U-Haul. In sum, I do not appreciate being ticketed for parking a 20"ft U-Haul on the curb on my street where I am loading my things less than a mile from where I rented this U-haul. Poor location, poor customer service, No private parking for returning this U-Haul rental.

I want to start off by saying that moving is stressful. Most of the customers that get a U-Haul are under a great deal of stress already, specially if they’re moving their home like I did the past two days. Upon rental I had no complains. In fact, I loved the employee who helped me. The one that checked me out though, was horrible. Her name is Stephanie. Stephanie was rude from the beginning. I don’t know why. She answered phones and slammed them without interacting with the customers on the other end. That set the mood for me. So proceeded cautiously. But then she interacted with me: she accused me of keeping the vehicle longer than I was allowed and then said she would have to charge me again because my card was declined. I said: I called and asked if I could keep it an extra day and was granted the permission. Then I informed her my bank had payed the last two days already and she wanted to charge me for a third. This is when I asked her to call management. She called U-Haul supervisors via phone line and they informed me I was correct. This upset her and after hanging up she proceeded to LECTURE me about returning vehicles on time. She completely ignored my contract and continued to accuse me. I cut her off mid sentence and asked for my receipt. I hope you can do something about this because customer service is everything. There was a closer uhaul rental to my new place but i returned here because the first person who helped be was fantastic. Now I will never return to that place because of this horrible employee Stephanie. This is your brand represented. And I know uhaul is at a higher standard than some moody teenager who deigns to work for you.

They are open late @ 8:30 am. My Appointment was 8:00am. I do not recommend any one.

My whole experience with U-Haul on this move was a nightmare. I reserve my U-Haul in the city I lived in, which was 4 miles away from the new house I was getting ready to move into. I made sure to make this reservation weeks in advance so there would be no issues with truck availability. On the day of my move, I Uber to the location and the employee seemed surprised and confused that I was there. He could not find my reservation at first, and after digging for a few minutes he was able to pull it up on the computer. He told me that there was a reservation made, but that it had been canceled by U-Haul. I could not believe what I was hearing, I had a lot of people on their way to my house to help with this move and I did not have a truck?! He then made a phone call and told me U-Haul had moved my reservation for a smaller truck to a different city. I told him that was not acceptable, and that I needed the larger truck. He then called another location, still in a different city. He was able to secure the larger truck that I had ordered, but that meant that I still needed to get over to that other location, not nearby. I Uber to the second location where I met with what I thought was a friendly employee. So now I am down to Uber rides, but I was in the larger truck so I was happy and on my way. The movie with friends went well, I was told by the U-Haul employee to return the truck the following morning by 10 AM. After the move, I took my large group of friends out to dinner to thank them for assisting with the move. I reached into my purse when the bill arrived and saw I was missing my ID and my credit card. Frantically I was trying to think of the last place I had seen it, and I remembered I handed it to the U-Haul employee, when she was sending me out the door she only handed me a receipt. I didn’t notice with all that was going on but she failed to give me those items back. I began to stress because I was supposed to supposed to pay for this meal. I had to ask to borrow money from my friends to pay for everything. I was extremely embarrassed. I arrived at U-Haul early the next morning to retrieve my license and credit card. I had a lot I needed to buy for the new house, including food for my kids. I saw the doors are locked and there were trucks blocking the driveway so I had to park this 15 foot wide truck on a very busy street nearby. I waited for over a half hour and noticed it was past 10 AM. I looked online for the hours, anxiously awaiting because I also had other things to do that morning. To my shock and surprise, it said the location was closed on Sundays. Why didn’t the employee mention this to me earlier, and now what the hell am I supposed to do without my drivers license and credit card for the weekend! I frantically got a hold of a U-Haul employee using the number I found online, that person was extremely nice and appeared to do everything he could to get a hold of somebody at the location that I was

The customer service was horrible. The girls at the counter were rude and unfriendly. The girl giving me my vehicle was short with me and didn’t show me anything on the vehicle. I will not be using this location again. The drop off for the after hours was not marked or well maintained

The girls at the counter should be fired. One was loudly on the phone with a friend giggling while the one who helped me was horribly rude and nasty. I would fire them both. Uhaul should not use this company to represent them.

The website over booked the truck I ordered. The agent on location was very good and I was lucky that someone had an unscheduled return as I got there. FYI, If you have a need on Saturday and will be returning after 6 pm the gates are locked until Monday morning.

Clean and check that the equipment is actually functioning. I had to use my own tow straps with the auto hauler that I rented as the ratchet mechanism didn't work. Also both the truck and the trailer where very dirty.

This place was terrible. I waited 20 minutes in the rain because no one was in the office. The person got dropped off late to work I assume. I reserved an appliance dolly, but they apparently didn’t have any. When I dropped off the truck, the person, instead of just checking mileage, went and parked the truck. This took an awkward amount of time, which all I wanted to do after a long day is go home. I’ve always used uhaul for moving purposes, but this experience will make me reconsider
