I've used U Haul many times, but this was the worst ride I've ever had. I was jerked all over the place while driving the truck. I was told it was at 1/4 of a tank of gas, but when I drove down the road it was under and I had to stop to get fuel before I got to my destination.

I was charged for half a tank of gas that I did not use. The contract said 3/4 full when I picked and I drove 24 miles put in 6.459 gallons and returned it with over 3/4 a tank. consider this post a public service announcement. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN TRUCK RENTALS. I WOULD RATHER HAVE ACID POURED INTO MY EYES WHILE HANGING BY MY TOENAILS WHILE BEING SKINNED ALIVE. I rented a flatbed truck to move a chair. It took 45 minutes and total miles were 5.5. The first thing they did was charge my card BEFORE I EVEN LEFT THE STORE (illegal) and they charged me $50.00 FOR A (bogus) "DEPOSIT " WITHOUT TELLING ME THE AMOUNT UNTIL AFTER THEY RAN THE CARD (illegal) for a $50.00 "deposit" WHICH UHAUL WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES THEY DONT REQUIRE A DEPOSIT FOR PURCHASES WITH A CREDIT CARD (really illegal) so I was stunned and asked to have them cancel the transaction and THEY REFUSED. It gets worse. THEY DID NOT WALK ME TO THE TRUCK FOR THE INSPECTION AND I ASKED THEM TO DO SO AND THEY YELLED BACK "THE PAPERWORK IS ALREADY IN THE TRUCK". When I returned the vehicle, the guy with the clipboard DID NOT LOOK AT THE TRUCK FOR DAMAGES, HE DID NOT LOOK AT THE ODOMETER FOR MILEAGE AND HE DID NOT CHECK THE FUEL GAUGE. Then I was told I had driven 40 miles when it was only 5!! I demanded an explanation and they said they accidentally calculated another truck's mileage instead of mine. (Now I have 2 contracts and 2 separate invoices -one for 40 miles, then one for 5 miles and NO RECEIPTS from the credit card transaction). Then I get an email with yet another invoice saying they accidentally inverted the numbers on the original mileage out, thus my 5 miles has now become 7 (new invoice, new charges, new balance due) - new activity on my debit card without my approval or acknowledgement. THEN ANOTHER EMAIL SAYING NOT 7 miles, now it's 13 miles. (Again, no warning just another email). The following morning I received another email saying they made another error in calculating the mileage is NOW 17 MILES AND WHEN I SAY I WAS PISSED IT WAS ON ANOTHER LEVEL I CANT DESCRIBE. Currently, they've debited my account for over $200. And will not give me documentation proving the mileage discrepancies. They have not credited my account for ANY amounts as listed on the invoices. I have a total of 6 invoices , 2 contract numbers, and 2 separate license plates indicating 2 separate vehicles. WORST PART IS CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT ANSWER. THERE IS NO COMPANY DIRECTORY. THERE IS NO WAY OF FILING A COMPLAINT VIA EMAIL UNLESS ITS THROUGH THEIR ONLINE FORM WHICH IS FLOATING AROUND IN CYBERSPACE. My bank has to allow the pending charges to post BEFORE I can file a claim with the fraud department. I can't get provisional credit and I may have to wait 30 days for the investigation so I would say this is A SCAM OF EPIC PROPORTION AND I THINK THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED WHICH IS WHY I SPENT AN HOUR OF MY LIFE WRITING THIS BECAUSE THERE IS POWER IN NUMBERS.

I would like to start this by saying that I would like my money back completely from this move as u-haul breached my contract. Two days before my move we received a call saying that the original location did not have the truck that was promised. Once scheduling what contacted they found a truck in Broomfield. The day of the move we were called on our way to the new location to pick up the truck and were told that they did not have it. Scheduling then found one in Loveland which was an hour away from my location. I had to move this day as my house was being closed on the next morning at 8am. We had movers scheduled to come to my house at 11 am. Due to the truck being in Loveland we had to call the movers and we got a re-scheduling fee for them to come out later. This pushed my whole move back. Once we got to the location and picked up the truck we were not given what we had ordered which I asked by scheduling if they had. That was the furniture pads, dolly's, and furniture dolly's. We ordered two of each dolly, and two dozen pads. I talked with scheduling and they told me that the location had them. They did not. We ordered everything on May 18th and were suppose to pick it all up on June 30th. This whole moving order was over a month old. The location in Loveland was very nice but again it was not easy trying to figure everything out. We paid for half the order in advance and when we got there to get our stuff they did not have that on file. We had to then take up more of our time that we did not have to figure it out. Once that was done they put in the wrong amount instead of what we paid. The company was also suppose to add milage to us since we went out of our way to pick up the truck that was not at the location promised. It was not the locations issue that U-haul could not get their stuff together. The location was very nice and tried to help. This move almost put my house in jeopardy as it would have been a breach of contract had I not been out of there on time. U-haul breached contract that was promised me and put me into undo stress over the move.

The AC wasn't working very well in the van I had. Granted I only had it for a few hours but poor AC in Phoenix in the summer is not a good idea.
