After escaping Florida from Hurricane Irma our car broke down on the way home from Athens, Alabama. We were stuck on the side of the highway (me, my fiance, my 1 1/2 year old and my two dogs) the motor was blown. So we decided the only thing to do at this point was to rent a uhaul and haul the car home. Had a terrible experience at the uhaul place in Montgomery and just as bad at the place in my town. They weren't willing to work with my on the gas. I wasn't able to put it back to a full tank because everywhere was out of gas on my way home to the point where I thought I was going to run out. And not only that, but I spent wayyyyy more money than I thought I was going to in gas. Plus when the motor blew in the car I was driving it had a full tank. We are a one income family and made it work but I couldn't believe that even though I put some gas in it (what I could) they still charged me $136 because I didn't return it with a full tank but an 1/8 of a tank. Even after I told them my story and how I have a 1 1/2 year old and cant even afford to pay my rent and need diapers and need food for my house because my electric went out and ruined everything in my fridge. They were completely heartless about the whole situation even though I returned the truck TWO DAYS in advance. (I rented it on the 12th and returned it the 13th instead of the 15th) They still couldn't and didn't work with me. I will be renting from Budget from now on.

We moved before Irma hit and had difficulty getting gas upon returning vehicle. This location did not provide a full tank of gas (less than 3\4 and added a $44 charge for a 28 mile trip. It cost us less to rent the 26 foot truck with the same trip. $30 cheaper and the attendants blamed me for not saying anything about not having a full tank, and charged over the 28 miles due to not checking the mileage until we returned the truck, less than two hours later. I have disputed this and am awaiting a response. The first location at Linden Ave, spring hill, FL was professional. They checked mileage, full tank, and pointed out prior dents\damage to the truck. Do not deal with the Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL location!

When we speak to the field office, we would expect no delay in communication. However that seemed to be a clear case of this. Also, this location needs to review their practices in order to ensure all equipment is provided which was our horrible experience when the dolly was not included and we were still forced to pay for it. The UHaul cab also smelled like animal urine and it was overwhelming.

This was not my original pickup location they failed to have my equipment available, the person who assisted me was very kind HOWEVER he sent me off to drive 2,000 miles with my minor child without working trailer lights. I drove out of the way during my trip to a location that refused to fix it on-site. Ultimately it was the worst Uhaul experience I have ever had. I called roadside assistance they never showed and the system has no record of my request. Promises were made to compensate me fire all that happened and I am still arguing to receive anything after all I went through. I have used Uhaul for all my moves for thirty years but I won't use them for a long distance one way travel again after everything I experienced this time. Even when I returned my truck a couple was very happy I arrived as their equipment had been rented out on them also and me showing up saved them a huge headache of figuring something else out. I think the biggest thing that needs to be worked on is MAKING SURE PROMISED EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE AS PROMISED !!! What good is making a reservation if you don't hold the equipment as promised!

The only only only thing was a little frustrating was that there was only one personell at desk. So I was waiting in line behind a person doing a complete rental, while the 1 employee had to also answer all the phone calls and answer the person calling questions...so it was a waiting game. The employee was super friendly and professional, and she handled everything well and apologized for the extended wait times. There just needs to be 2 people at desk to make this the perfect customer experience.

there was a very difficult customer in front of me, even though the customer tried his best to rattle the worker and belittle her "because she was a woman" she handled her self VERY well and EXTREMELY professional.
