I had submitted a question online chat. I asked if the trailer I was renting had a drop down tail gate/ door- ramp. I was told yes. NOT. Not teal happy.

Prepaid and registered online before coming in to make things easier. Workers at the auto wash where rude and snippy when I tried explaining I already paid. No directions where given for the drop off. When I dropped the truck off in Clarkston. I locked the keys in the truck. Thinking they'd have a spare and want the truck locked up. Instead I got more attitude and a 100$ charge to go unlock the truck. If you wanted things done a certain way you should be specific. Never rented and uhaul and never will ever again. Mistakes happen. I just got done moving my two kids and girlfriend I was exhausted. That mistake shouldn't of cost me 100$.

When I made my reservation I created a uhaul account and used my girlfriend's bank card that is furnished by her employer. After standing outside in the cold that night going thru the verification process and also dealing with 4 sterling heights police officers who got a call if suspicious activity who had zero idea that there was such a thing as after hours pick up; the card was declined saying it was considered a prepay card! which it clearly is not you can't add money to it but the only money that is added to it is when she gets paid by her employer twice a month. This caused us a delay and scrambling to get the authorization of the owner of the company she works for to use the corporate credit card...

The location was fine, but there were a number of issues with the app: I arranged for the truck to be there at 7:30am the next morning (granted: I booked it late, maybe after 5pm the day prior). When I got there, first the app told me that there wasn't any equipment with the reservation. Then I called the rep listed in the app (he was very helpful and quickly available), who advised me to reload it. Then it recognized the reservation. When I got to the part where it asks me to upload my driver's license, it just stalled out and went to the previous step, asking me to upload it again. I did that about 4 or 5 times before it finally worked. Then when I finally go into the lockbox, there wasn't any key. I called the rep again and he helped me open all lockboxes, but no key. I waited until the owner got there and he gave me the key. The owner was helpful and courteous and he pointed out that it's possible that the late reservation caused the issue with the key, but here's my 2 cents: IF the reservation is made too late and the key isn't available, then I need the website/app to tell me as soon as I made the reservation. I'd understand, but I shouldn't find out when I'm actually at the lockbox at 7:30am. Otherwise, I think if the kinks can be worked out, the app has a lot of great potential.

I set up my reservation as a one-way and also reserved a storage unit. After arriving at the location to pick up the truck, the process took nearly an hour. The location was also a car wash, and every time a car came through, the owner stopped assisting me and would drive the vehicles thru the car wash and towel dry them. Then he changed my reservation from a one way to a local without my knowledge/permission, which then had to be cancelled and reprocessed. I found this experience to be a waste of time, and as moving is already stressful enough, it added extra steps that were unnecessary.

I reserved a 10 foot truck, I was called and told that they only had a 15 foot truck and that I can get it for the same price, but when I checked out I was priced for the 15 foot truck. Other than that I'm overall pleased with the convience of after hour pick up, and drop off.



I called uhaul company and I have complain this location we use 31miles we put $45 gas on gas gauge Was stock on half . the tank was full after 45$...when we got back to their office we told the person behind the desk she said I have to charge you I told her to go check the tank is full after 45$ but the gauge was showing 1/2 ...and I told her to not charge my credit card 3 times ..i will pay cash .. she give me receipts charge was made my credit card ..i told her to not charge the card she told me it's over I cannot do nothing ..i told her i'll call corporate office and make my complain I'm asking the corporate for refunds

I was not informed by the rental company that the truck I reserved was not the right truck size at the time of rental. It was a smaller truck than it was reserved at. Please inform customer what size truck you are furnishing at the time of rental.

When I receive the confirmation that I could get the truck size I was looking for, I asked if I could pick it up at 9:00 am, so I got there 5 minutes earlier, then a girl, who I suppose is the owner arrived around 5 minutes after 9:00 and tell me that they do not open until 10:00, that I would have to wait, but the worst part is that she was mean and was yelling at me for no reason, of course I did not like it and I told her back that I was told to pick up at 9:00 and that I would not wait so long. Then she said that she would need time to check in trucks and do some other stuff. 15 minutes later I come back to the office and she started yelling again, until I had to tell her: "you have no reason to be mean to me and you have no rights to yell at me", then she realized she was wrong and lowered her voice and tone. I told her I would be back at 10:00 and left. I came back and the truck was ready, she apologized for what happened before. But I really think that is not the way to treat a customer, Unfortunately I was not able to remember the name of the guy who told me I would be able to pick up at 9:00. Anyway, the truck was what I needed, it just had a MIL indicator on, and sometimes the ABS indicator was on too.

When you tell a customer you're going to price match actually price match them not mess it up and then tell them well you already got it so no this is the price you have to pay also don't tell him to drop it off at a location and then charge them for a wrong location drop off

This garage is delapidated, from the outside you wouldn't even know it's operational. Lady at the front desk was rude and refused to allow rental without paying for rental insurance even though if I rented online I could decline it. The van was in ok shape, no major defects but lots of cosmetic issues. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE! Plenty of other uhaul rental locations w/in 5 mile radius.

Don't use self service. The Chat representatives were not helpful at all. My wife lost an hour of work. I Will never use it again. A 20 minute job turned into 2 hours due to dealing with self service. All the chat representatives should be reprimanded, re trained ,or replaced.

I was encouraged to purchase the insurance plan for $14.00, however it was not necessary. I think it would be good company policy to refund that money if there is no accident/damage that takes place. Otherwise, it is a type of double-dipping, and just a way of making a quick buck.

Why is the insurance offered by U haul mandatory? I was told that it was by the owner/manager of Backus Auto Wash, even though my insurance would have covered a pick up.
