I rented a U-Haul cargo van specifically because of the advertised extended mileage rate of $110 per day for 150 miles. Unfortunately, my experience at this third-party location was very disappointing. When I arrived to pick up the van, there was no staff available to assist me, and the U-Haul app did not allow me to complete the pickup process. The same lack of support happened during drop-off — the owner was not helpful and instead charged me incorrectly for fuel and extra kilometers. I was told that the $110 extended rate would be applied automatically by U-Haul, but that did not happen. Thankfully, I had taken photos of the fuel level and mileage at return, which helped me prove that the additional charges were not valid. Overall, the experience was frustrating due to poor customer service and lack of transparency. I would strongly recommend avoiding third-party U-Haul locations and instead renting directly from official U-Haul centers to avoid similar issues.
