South Detroit is usually where I obtain a truck, however, they did not have one available when I placed my reservation. I was suppose to pick up my truck on Angola Rd at Mr Storage but the store was closed. I had to call the Uhaul Reservation line and they informed me that Angola Rd was suppose to be open. The sign on Mr Storge door said close Sunday’s. They sent my reservation to South Detroit, where I originally wanted to make my reservation, stating they had a truck dropped off last night. Uhaul needs to make sure all the companies that want to help Uhaul are open and running when they say they are and there won’t be any hassles for customers.

Customer service was poor! Employees were not groomed and I was not greeted with a hello! Please train employees the importance of courtesy and customer relations.

First of all the employee that was there was very rude and disrespectful. He was very unprofessional and didnt know what he was doing. He stood up to me as if he were bossing up to me and gave me an added on fee that was not discussed or explained when i first rented the cargo van. There were hidden fees and the guy there was very rude and said "we are not going to believe what you say but im going to believe what we say". He also said that I couldnt have a reciept unless i payed for it and and that i couldnt have a paper saying that i brought the vehicle back in good conditions. He tried to make me pay for that as well. He told me there was an added fee for milage and that we were on a 100 mile plan and that we went 91 miles. When i called the assistance hotline they said that i went 100+ miles and that there were going to be added fees for that as well.

The van had snow all over it, the mileage and gas was less than what was documented on paper, I return the van when I said i would at 9pm the same fatty i picked it up 03/02/2018 cleaned with gas in it. I noticed i was charged 3 times for one rental and I want reimbursement

Next time let me know in advance that I could have kept the truck longer so I didn't have to rush. Also make sure the gas in the truck is accurate with the printout given.

I waited about 10 minutes at the return station. While Gregory attended to another customer. He walked by us at least twice. He never once said I will be with you in a few minutes I am sorry. Finally, a young man walked out and took care of us. He told me he didn't realize Gregory wasn't taking care of us. How he didn't know Gregory was taking care of another customer is beyond me. Then when he processed my return he told me the computer system was down and I couldn't get a receipt. The next day I get a call telling me the truck was turned in late, which wasn't close to being true. I returned the truck at about 12:15pm on 2/24 and it was due back at 1:30pm. Now I am charged for 65 miles and it should have been about 36 miles. It is quite obvious to me that someone else rented the truck after me and drove it for about 30 miles and now I am being charged for it because the gentlemen (white male about 30 years old) didn't finish my check in. He told me my bill would be about $89. I don't remember the exact amount and of course I can't prove any of this because I don't have a receipt and I took his word that he would take care of it.

Furniture dolly was unusable. The lock for the strap was broke and I had to use a ratchet strap. Other than that it was a great experience.

There was no gas in truck. The back was left open while it was raining and the rain froze making a thin sheet of ice in the truck making it very hard to walk in and out if the truck with out falling. As if moving in January isnt rough enough my experience with the uhaul made it that much worse.

I was highly disappointed that I couldn't swap out the trailer, I originally rented, with a van without receiving an additional charge. The trailer was not the right fit nor capable of maneuvering in the weather conditions during that time. I rented a van for three days making you plenty of money. The least I could've gotten in return in my major inconvenience of the trailer was my rental fee returned. I'm in a bad situation both financially and emotionally and I'm disappointed your company couldn't do this one simple gesture to keep not only a happy customer but possibly a returning customer.

Unfortunately, I locked my keys and purse in the rental after hours. Greg and Amada were EXCELLENT help with my predicament the next morning. I could not have asked for better assistance and their suppport and assistance went above and beyond customer service. This will keep me coming back to the S Detroit UHaul. While I told both of them....I want to make sure I give kudos where kudos are due.
