This location was very close (a few hundred yards or less) the first, much bigger, location would not take the truck because they were not listed as the receiving location. Went to the "C&C" location which was a Midas shop. Not well marked as a U-Haul site. First thing they say is " we don't take 26 ft vans here". They suggested going back to the location around the corner because it was bigger. They finally said "just park it over there and we will deal with it later". The drop off was Saturday the 25th, around 4:30-5 PM. I see from my receipt I just received the return is listed as the 28th. (Just ahead of the deadline.) I tried to return 4 extra boxes I had purchased with the promise/promotion -- buy plenty and rerun what you don't use (as long as the tabs between the lid flaps are not cut). C&C does not carry boxes and would not reimburse. Went back to the "full service" U-Haul location around the corner on Ajo Hwy They would only take back two of the boxes. One had some tape stuck to it and another had a small hole rubbed through an edge. They were very slow and seemed reluctant to pay even the few dollars for the two pristine boxes. I got the feeling I was a big bother to them.

I have rented from Uhaul several times, and it is normally a trouble free and pleasant experience. This time it most certainly WAS NEITHER. First, this was a reserved rental done on-line via Uhaul website. I showed up 20 minutes earlier than my reservation, and the counterman told me I needed to go to another store to check in, which I did. At the other store, they told me that was not correct, I needed to return to the first store to check in, which I did. At the first store, the counterman looked at my driver license, and told me to go hook up the trailer myself, which I did. No one looked at the trailer before I left, no one verified my hitching was correct, no one verified the lights were working, no one checked the condition of the trailer, and I never received any kind of paperwork or contract. When I left, the counterman told me that when I returned it (this was a local rental) to take it to the other store, which I did. When I told the people at the other store what had gone on, they told me that no, I needed to return it to the original store, which I did. When I returned it to the original store, the counterman told me to park it where I found it and unhitch it myself, which I did. Again, no one looked at it to verify condition, and I still received no contract, receipt, or other paperwork. I was told it would be emailed to me. At this point, I was thoroughly confused, frustrated, and concerned. So, I returned to the second store (from which I have rented several times in the past) and asked them to verify that the trailer had been checked in, which they were happy to do. After some time, they said that yes, it had been checked in. The fellows in the second store were as confused as I was, but they went out of their way to be helpful, so kudos to them. So, to summarize: The store that the website told me to go to for my reserved trailer, 6th Ave C&C Tucson, will never receive my business or any recommendation from me, but the store on Ajo Way will. If this had not already been reserved, and my credit card being charged for it, I would have run for the hills the first time the counterman told me to hook it up myself. I would like ironclad confirmation that my side of this contract is fulfilled, and that I will hear no more about this or have any trouble regarding this in the future PLEASE. Thank you.
