The volume and variety of U-Haul offerings is excellent at the 290 Belmont St, Worcester, MA, site. My frustration is with the time it takes to "check-in" and pick-up equipment. The apps the employee uses with his/her phone and working thru the system takes a long time 20+ min. with only 1 or 2 employees, the line of people backs up at busy times in the morning. I was charged for 2 days I only had the van for 4 hours. I was told 20 dollars and with the miles 34 all together. Then 39 cents a mile. Found out it was like 6 dollars a mile I was charged 163 dollars when it should've been like 60 the most. It's a huge scam no one should have to pay that much. I was given a drop off location that was 5.6 miles out of my way. I called the office to see if I could drop the vehicle off to a closer/different location to me. I spoke to the supervisor at the location that I rented the uhaul from and he assured me that dropping the vehicle off to a closer location would be ok and that I would just need to explain my situation to the drop off location. The person at that close location said that I was given false information and that if I dropped the vehicle off there that uhaul would have charged me double. I had to go way out of my way at that point.. I am not a satisfied customer. The supervisor that I spoke to name was Harry and his location from which I rented the uhaul was on Belmont St in Worcester MALORI L.

The trailer I rented was clearly not maintained, and the person who is supposed to be checking the equipment before check out did not do their job. After returning home, I noticed that the tires looked under inflated. I checked the tire pressure. The drivers side was at 13psi, and the passenger was 25psi, despite the sidewall recommending 70psi. Further review of the tires revealed that there were several cracks from age. After contacting UHAUL support, I was told I couldn't safely inflate and operate the trailer, so they would send someone out to replace the tires. After an hour, I was told the small tire size wasn't available. Another 2 hours later it was finally towed away. I had to pick up a different trailer the next morning.Jacob R.

At first, early afternoon, my rental process was smooth, (although very slow and the store manager was not wearing a mask). After completing my haul from Connecticut to Massachusetts (which was thoroughly explained to the employee who originally helped me) I dropped the truck off at approximately 11:00 PM in Massachusetts (again thoroughly explained to the employee who helped me where I was going). I woke up the next morning to check my bank statement too see that I was charged over $480: for a 17ft truck, for around 70 miles, and for less than 12 hours within the same day. I called in and eventually was called back by the general manger, TIM ST. Pierre. Tim apologized for the incident and promised a refund, no problem stuff happens I get it completely. After three days I saw no refund, called back, eventually got to Tim, he apologized and two days later I received $200 back, the overcharge, but I never received my initial hold: no problem it's a large corp things happen. Now, two weeks from my initial call, no response from the store, every call goes directly to their regional or national office. After requesting callbacks from these offices, still nothing. At this location Tim, didn't seem to care to follow proper and basic Covid-19 safety precautions, employees seemed to care less about what they were doing, and it took over an hour to initially rent my truck (there was one party ahead of me). And now, two weeks later, I am still not able to get in touch with anyone at that store; and despite multiple call attempts to their headquarters I am not able to get anywhere in this process BUYER BEWARE.ETHAN E.
