Was told by clerk at pickup location that I could drop off equipment after hours at delivery location. That was not the case. I then had to make last minute arrangements to keep the trailer overnight with me when I was not planning to do so. This was very difficult as I was staying at a hotel that could not accommodate the trailer.

I paid for a dolly. I reminded the guy that I needed the dolly as we were leaving the counter and he said he'd put it in the van. I forgot to check and of course, it was not in the van. I was moving a lot of furniture on my own and this made it significantly more difficult. I was refunded $7 which did not feel like an adequate response. Beyond that, the staff was borderline impolite in every interaction I had with them. It seemed no one wanted to actually be there. Every time I use U-Haul the experience seems to get worse. Customer service sucks. And when I was in New Orleans I got a truck that was crawling with roaches. Had to go back across town to return the truck before loading my stuff, obviously, which was a massive inconvenience during a moving day and was completely dismissed by the manager when I brought this up. "Call em and say whatever you want. I'm the manager. You ain't gettin no discount." Real quality brand you've got.

I really wanted to pick up the trailer at a different location because I was not familiar with this County. We had to drive across the entire County to pick up the trailer. Not a life threatening situation. However the U-Haul manager and other staff's pleasant demeanor, helpfulness, and knowledge about the trailer more than made up for having to travel back and forth across the County.

Train your staff to provide all relevant information. Yes, the fine print tells you that there is a $30 surcharge on top of the $4.50 per gallon if you don't replace gas yourself, but only if the tank is less than a quarter full . I would expect to be told that when picking up the vehicle. And if that's the rule, don't send a customer out with a vehicle that has barely a quarter of a tank of gas in it, as in my case. After driving 35 miles, they wanted to charge me a total of $48 to replace four gallons of gas. It feels like a scam. I also suggest you train your managers not to respond to an unhappy client by telling him he should have read the contract and then challenging him to call whoever he wants to complain about it. A little common-sense discretion would go a long way. The truck itself was fine.

i did not get a good impression of the representative at the location. i felt more like a number than a person. he told me that no truck was available, then after asking where the closest available truck is located, he checked the the uhaul further up was also booked. after calling the reservation center, i got a truck from the same location that was supposedly booked. im glad that i knew to call the reservation center. poor customer service never feels good to a customer

Won’t use uhaul again as I reserved a 26 foot truck about 45 days in advance then two days before I move they email and say my 15 foot truck is ready. Really? I’m just supposed to fit all my stuff in truck that’s 11 feet smaller? What’s the point of making a reservation if uhaul doesn’t reserve the truck? Do you know the definition of the word reservation? I called customer support and after waiting 40 minutes on hold they were zero help. Better off using a company that actually reserves the trucks when you make a reservation.

I was not satisfied due to the fact we made the reservation with the fact that we would drop off the truck to a location near South Salem, NY. However, after we completed the need of the truck we called to verify the address where we can drop off the truck; we were told we had to drive it back to the Yonkers location. This was inconvenient and it cost us much more than anticipated due to the extra mileage.

We were asked to put a gallon of gas more in the tank when we returned it. We proceeded and went and got gas and filled it up two gallons, and when we got back, the representative who took the truck back said that the gas was still low, therefore charging us more money.

Refueling to dispatched level of 11/16 is very difficult to measure so I returned the van with a full tank of gas believing I would get credit for the difference. That would be fair considering if I returned the van short of the 11/16 I would have been charge $ 4.50 per gallon . Please explain.
