too small for much
Our small moving box is ideal for moving, shipping or storing smaller, dense and heavy items such as books, tools, sheet sets, small appliances and canned food. This box is also the perfect size to hold vinyl records.
too small for much
Love 'em! :)
These boxes are rated 32 ECT.
Please go to uhaul.com. Then click "Locations". Once there enter your zip code. Select the "Box returns" box. Then click "Find Locations". The results will display the return locations based on your zip. You will need to take your receipt with you to the location.
Our purchasing department notes the weight of this product is 1.15LB each.
UHaul made the decision to reduce the sell price of our most popular boxes. One of which was the small box. By doing so, it created exactly what you have pointed out. It's really not that our book box is priced high. It is not. It's that our core boxes have been lowered.
Our buyer for this product writes: "65 lbs. / 65 lbs."
They are perforated and have to be punched out if you decide to use the handles.
Hi, Debbie! This box can hold up to 65 pounds. Thanks for asking!
Yes. Small box size is: 16-3/8" x 12-5/8" x 12-5/8"
Small bundle is 25
If you buy 25 you will pay the 25+ rate. You will not be charged anymore than that for the ones you keep if and when you return the unused ones.
Hi, Leslie! If you are picking up your order in-store, you will not have to pay any shipping costs, even if the order is not $50.
When unassembled, this box is not designed to be folded. You can force a fold, however, it will weaken the strength of the box.
Most boxes qualify for the return to our company owned Centers. There is no time limit for the return. You will need your receipt and the boxes must be un-used.
They ship flat. You have to open then bend the flaps down and tape.
These boxes have handles designed for moving. The handles holds do not have flaps to tape over the holds. However, we do have boxes without the handles that would most likely work better for you. http://www.uhaul.com/MovingSupplies/Shipping-boxes-supplies/
Made in the USA.
It depends on the weight in each of the boxes and where they are being stacked. "Box dimensions: 16-3/8" x 12-5/8" x 12-5/8" (1.5 cu/ft) 32 ECT." Thanks.
Our web site information indicates yes this box will work for record albums. Thanks.
On the top, yes. On the side, no.
Without knowing the size of the books I can only estimate. My estimate would be 15-20. Thank you.
Yes, these boxes are large enough to fit vinyl records. Thank you.
Our pricing for our corporate owned centers and online store are the same. Our independent dealers can set their own sell prices. Thank you.
Jason, in some cases the in-store prices are different than online. If you are able, choose the in store pick up option and select your local U-Haul store. The prices for that specific location will then show up on the product page.
We recommend using the U-Haul Book Box for moving books. The Book Box is exactly 1 cubic foot.
U-Haul Authorized Dealers set their own prices on moving supply products. Thanks for asking!
Hey Leigh, good question!
ECT stands for Edge Crush Test. The Edge Crush Test is a standard measurement tool used to test the strength of corrugated boxes by measuring how resistant they are to being crushed at their edges.
Knowing the gross weight a particular box will hold gives a basic idea of strong it may be, but ECT gives a much more detailed understanding. You often times won't see any of our competitors advertising the ECT of their boxes because they simply don't compare to ours!
Our Small Moving Box is just slightly larger than the Home Depot boxes you bought, so if you stack them on the bottom you should be just fine!
Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for cardboard boxes so everywhere you buy is going to have slightly different dimensions. That being said, our boxes are the strongest and still cost less than the competition.
Our small box is 16-3/8" wide x 12-5/8" long x 12-5/8" tall.
Yes, they can be shipped via USPS!
Hey Theresa, it is hard to say without knowing what size records you will be using.
Your best bet would be to measure the width of a few of your records and then see how many would fit into a space of 16-3/8" (the length of the box).
Cindy, U-Haul offers a number of different box sharing programs. I believe what you are looking for is the take a box, leave a box program that is offered at many of our company owned stores.
If you are wondering if your closest U-Haul location offers this program, feel free to give them a call and inquire about their participation, and how many boxes may currently be sitting in the free area!
Hey Al, we don't offer a specific size or ECT strength box for glassware, but we do offer a wide range of boxes specifically designed to keep those fragile glass items safe during your move.
Our Glass Pack Kit comes with a built in cell to keep your glassware from moving around during transport. Coupled with protective material like our bubble wrap and cushion foam, it is the best option for those fragile items.
The Dish Saver Kit is very similar to the Glass Pack Kit, but the cell has larger compartments for plates and such that need more space.
This Dish Barrel Box is also a great option for drinking and wine glasses.
Yes, they are!
No, boxes are not pre-treated with pesticide.
We will refund any unused box no matter how long it has been since you purchased them!
If you have your receipt, you can take them to any U-Haul Center for a full refund to your original method of purchase.
If you don't have a receipt, then you will be refunded with a U-Haul certificate which can be used on any U-Haul product or service.
If you don't have your receipt, but still have the card which was used for the original purchase, then a U-Haul Center should be able to look up the receipt for your original purchase and get you refunded.
If you paid with cash and don't have a receipt, then your only option is to receive a U-Haul certificate as a refund. Thanks for asking!
Each Medium Moving Box costs $1.35, so 6 Medium Moving Boxes would cost $8.10 plus shipping and taxes that apply. Thanks for your question!
Hey Jureal, I would recommend watching our video on how to properly pack dishes. I also recommend checking out the products mentioned in the video that are intended for properly packing dishes such as the Dish Saver Kit, wrapping paper, and our cushion foam pouches. All of the aforementioned products and the video should help you pack your dishes as safely and securely as possible!
Hi Ron. Our neighborhood dealers can decide their own prices for moving supplies. If you select a corporate owned facility (normally the name begins with U-Haul Moving and Storage of...) then the price will reflect our corporate rate.
Hi Ron. We'd recommend a small moving box for CD storage. Any larger sizes such as a medium would be pretty heavy by the time you loaded in all the CD's, and you might risk damaging some of the cases on the bottom.
Jerry, you were most likely looking at boxes at one of our independent dealers. They are able to set their own pricing for any moving supplies they purchase from us. Corporate U-Haul locations would have the same pricing as what you see online.
Hi, Donna! Yes, our small moving box can be used for dishes.
I recommend using some packing supplies to protect your dishes, such as cushion foam to wrap and protect your dishes as well as wrapping paper or Biodegradable Packing Peanuts to fill any empty space to prevent your dishes from shifting. I hope that is helpful!
Anyone can purchase boxes from U-Haul, no equipment rental reservation is needed! You can purchase online or you can visit your local U-Haul Center to purchase boxes there. Thanks for asking!
Hello, Renee! Our moving boxes are not acid free. Thanks for asking!
Hi, Darrin! A small box bundle is 25 boxes and the current bundle pricing is $0.86 USD per box if you have the boxes shipped to your home. Save money by picking the boxes up from a U-Haul center for $0.81 per box. I hope this was helpful!
