Installed myself in 30 minutes. Instructions were fairly easy to understand, but found that a Youtube video was better (Just search for your model/year with similar wiring kit) Literally plug and play. Plus, the price of this kit was 1/2 what I found locally - and it arrived in 2 days after ordering (Edmonton AB Canada!)

Do I need the power fuse lead and where do I pull the power wire to connect the fuse power cord I connected to battery and brought it back to the electrical converter box area but just unsure if I cut the brown wire and connect or it's another wire I have a 2006 Highlander.. When I bought my hitch it added the power fuse wire to battery. Hopkins OEM Grade Power Wire with Fuse Holder I already hooked everything up my trailer lights all works but uhaul added this fuse thing to my cart like I needed it so the CQT118413 4-Flat with Factory Style Taillight Harness Converter is hooked up without the fuse wire and all works fine but I'm unsure what wire to cut into to put the fuse wire from battery please help.

Will this work through the vehicle wiring harness without need for lead to battery?? I’m assuming that this product will convet brake and taillights to 2 wires on my 07 Highlander?

–Mark Siani 6/21/2018 11:38:39 AM

Hey, Mark! This taillight wiring harness converts your 3-wire taillight system to a 2-wire system without a lead from the battery. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 7/23/2018 10:49:52 AM

We have a 2006 Toyota Highlander and had a U-Haul hitch and wiring installed in 2007. It has worked well until recently, when the right side lighting quite. Upon inspection, the trailer light power module has a small melted area on the side where the right side wiring is. I imagine this is the problem. The original power module and wiring are the generic version, with clip-ons to the appropriate vehicle wires (brakes, taillights, blinkers). It would look like this quick connect would be a great replacement for the original. However, the wiring in our Highlander has only one large plug rather than the four plugs shown in the picture of the U-Haul quick connector (two large and two small). Is the picture accurate, or will this quick connect work with just one large plug?

–Don 6/18/2018 4:54:43 PM

Hey, Don! There are two types of 4-flat plug-and-play style trailer wiring harnesses that will fit your vehicle:

  1. CQT118413, which is a T-connector that uses the taillight connectors.
  2. CQT118248, which is a single plug harness that plugs into the vehicle tow harness located in the cargo area.
I hope that is helpful!

Do I have to buy a T-connector in addition to this?

–George 1/25/2016 1:18:12 PM

CQT118413 includes the connector assembly, converter and 4-flat plug, no additional T-connectors are needed.
