Montana SuperGraphic Unveiled at American Indian Heritage Day, Montana Historical Society

On September 22, 2006, U-Haul Company of Inland Northwest (Co. 703) and the U-Haul Media and Public Relations Department teamed up with the Montana Historical Society in Helena, Montana during American Indian Heritage Day to unveil the latest SuperGraphic, representing the state of Montana. Marketing Company President (MCP) John Eide, spoke to an excited crowd of more than 1,500 people before the veil was drawn and the Sacajawea SuperGraphic was officially revealed to the public.

Eide presented the following special guests with plaques: Brad Johnson, Montana secretary of state; Linda McCulloch, superintendent, Montana Office of Public Instruction; Billie Rusek, Montana Office of Indian Affairs; Linda Wruck, education officer, Montana Historical Society; Richard Sims, director, Montana Historical Society; Larry Fasbender, chief of staff for the Montana attorney general, Montana Department of Justice; Mary Michael, artist who designed the Sacajawea bronze statue in the city of Livingston, Montana; and Becky Douglass and Sandra Cahill, co-chairs of the Great Bend of the Yellowstone Heritage Commission. Also receiving plaques were Brian Schweitzer, governor of Montana; Alan Peura, commissioner, City of Helena; and Rozina George, great-great-great niece of Sacajawea.

U-Haul selected Sacajawea to represent the state because of her numerous contributions to the success of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
