Can you believe?

John Melia, Steve Nardizzi and other members of the Wounded Warrior Project advocated on Capitol Hill and statehouses across the country for enhanced benefits for veterans and military service members. Those involved actually had the idea, wrote the bill and lobbied in order to help get the bill passed. John Melia stated that this bill, named the Wounded Warrior Bill, signed by the President in May 2005, is "the most sweeping piece of veteran's legislation in the last 30 years!" One astounding result was an insurance policy that paid $25,000 to $100,000 when someone was severely injured. Since the bill became law in December of last year, the government has paid over $105 million to wounded service members and their families.
