1. We were on a time crunch for moving, and despite saying that the location opened at 10, the doors didn’t open until 10:15. And the computers weren’t started up, etc., so we had to wait even longer to get our vehicle. 2. Our reservation was given away twice and we were given very little heads up about this, which made the experience extremely challenging. What’s the point of paying for a reservation if it’s not going to be reserved? The whole point of a reservation is that it’s held for you. U-Haul doesn’t reserve trucks, it says “maybe you’ll get it, but maybe not.” Calling it a reservation is dishonest.

kip eThis was a disastrous pickup, likely my last with Uhaul. I was called two days before scheduled pickup by Uhaul and told I had to switch to a different location. On the morning of the pickup I went to that new location, tried to do the self-service (since I needed it before business hours), and the app said I had to call. So I called, and the CSR said I had to go to yet another location, even further from where I needed to be with the truck at a set time, since I was paying movers to load the truck. When I arrived at the (now third) location, I was unable to do the self checkout and it said I had to call. I ended up on the phone for 1.5 hours, being transferred around from person to person until I finally was able to get the truck, which didn't have any of the equipment I'd ordered and paid for—AND NEEDED! This was incredibly frustrated. Two hours late and without equipment I started out down the road. Then it became clear that I couldn't drive more than 45 mph with the unloaded truck, as it had unbalanced wheels and started to jerk around like crazy. For fear of back injury while driving, I had to drive that slow on the freeway to get to the loading location. Total disaster.
