This Uhaul experience made me have the worst day I've ever had in my life. This is not an exaggeration! I had to pick up the truck at this location, take it to my house to pack with all my belongings, then drive an hour away to another location to get the Tow Dolly! This is crazy. I had to fight Boston traffic with a huge truck I am not used to driving. Driving with the horrible Boston drivers is already stressful enough on a normal day, but going to an unfamiliar place, with a 14' truck and the time crunch due to the threat that "we are not staying open past 5pm. You need to be here before that" is NOT ACCEPTABLE. No one warned me that my high clearance would be an issue driving to the location and I ended up needing state troopers to help me back out of an underpass! My horrible drive to pick up a tow dolly that SHOULD have been attached to the truck where I rented it down the street from my house ended up stressing me out to the point of crying 3 different times. I was shaking nervous through more than half of this trip. After this ordeal of being helped by the state troopers for stopping traffic right before I entered a 9' clearance tunnel, I then had to drive 2 extra hours around Boston to try to get back to the original pick up location to get my car put onto the Dolly! This is all insane. Absolutely horrible communication within the company! To have a customer drive around for over 4 hours on an already stressful moving day is the worst customer service. I should have been at my house packing my truck at a normal pace. I made it back to the Malden location after their business hours, and they were nice enough to come out to put my car on the dolly. This whole traveling back and forth experience led to it being after 8pm by the time I got back to my house to pick up my traveling partners! So, we finished packing and left a little after 10pm and didn't get to our out of state location until after 12:30 am with the 55mph recommended driving speed with my car in tow! On the way a tow truck flagged us down to the side of the road because a chain from my car hook-up had come lose and was making tons of sparks fly under my car and he was worried for us!! Seriously!? So, they hadn't even secured the car properly. Maybe I would have been able to taken on a better perspective about this horribleness if we could have gone to sleep, but the imposed 8am return time made that impossible. (We called customer service and they told us they couldn't promise we wouldn't get extra charges if it was late.. so we should just unload and return it on time.) So, now we had to spend the next 4 hours unpacking the truck, in the dark middle of the night, probably disturbing the new-neighbors we haven't even met yet (GREAT first impression.) All this unpacking had to be without using the ramp and shuffling boxes around my car, because we couldn't get it off the tow dolly! So, 5am we drive it to the 24-hour drop off spot and have to nap there for 2 hours until they

I had requested the central square location but was transferred to this one. Luckily I decided to borrow a car for the move, but the transfer would have been a real problem if I was only biking or walking (which is what I normally do in Cambridge).

It appeared there was a new girl that was doing check out since she needed help every step of the way, which took a while and ate into our rental time. But what seemed to be the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The other issue was that the truck we received had several boxes and plastics containers inside that were dirty and the truck smelled a little like urine.

The Malden U-Haul guys were really nice and very understanding. Steve came out and unhooked the car dolly so I didn't, very nice of him! I had told Steve about the trip up to Malden with my wife from 300 miles away that morning. My wife and I had left home about 3am, coming up the NJTP and Garden State Parkway, through Connecticut, and the Mass TP with my furniture loaded pickup truck towing a car. My wife was concerned about the car getting rear-ended in the dark so I put the parking lights on. Anyway, when we got to Malden after the 5+ hour haul, the battery was dead in the car. I didn't have jumpers because we needed all the room we had for our daughters furniture. I asked Steve if he had a set of Jumpers I could borrow, he went to his truck and gave me his personal set of jumpers. I had already off loaded the car (try that when the car doesn't start), in a nearby parking lot. My daughter and I jumped the car and got it started then returned Steve's jumpers to him. I shook Steve's hand and thank him. I was extremely grateful for Steve's generosity and helpfulness to two people that he didn't know from Adam and Eve. Steve, Thank you so much and keep that F150 going!

I rented a truck. For some reason I couldn't bring back the truck before my 24hr rental. I got yelled at on the phone to return the truck. That someone was traveling to New Mexico. Here was the comment. " if you came to rent a truck and it was here would you be happy?" I explained to them that I'm stuck on traffic on route to drop off my properties. He replied. "I don't care how you do it, I want my truck back" I mean seriously. If the truck was a jet I would have flown back to return his truck by his 6pm closing time. He was so rude. The painful thing was before I rented and left with the truck. I asked if I can't make the deadline of 1day , what should I do? I was told that I will just be charged for one more day. Next, I was charged more than the mileage i used cos the was not correct on rental. I was told to drop off the contract and that they will make the changes. But no they still charged me for extra mile. They made my move miserable after that call. Oh by the way, I rented U- haul within 2wks 3 times already. Moving my stuff. And this was my first time using that store 34 broadway st, Malden Ma. I felt direspected when I was yelled at on the phone. So unprofessional. Rental was for Thursday 31st July 2014. I returned Friday 9pm 1st 2014.

Make sure that fuel reading is accurate I was rented a vehicle that was recorded at half tank. When I showed it to the uhaul rep that it was slightly below he aid "it's half you need to turn the key all the way" so I left it off and I drove 1.5 miles and the gage dropped below by end of my rental which was 16 miles used I ended having to put $7 of fuel a little under two gallons now I hardly doubt seven miles RTP without traffic would burn two gallons of fuel.

This location was fine but I booked the uhaul in a differnt location and they changed without asking me which location worked best. I tried calling customer service and was transferred to about 7 people before someone in Salsbury was able to assist.

The business was a little hard to find, but the U-Haul agent said that is a constant complaint. I did not have to wait and since my email was in file, my drop off was also stress-free. Thank both sites for excellent, cheerful customer service! Being in customer service myself, I am extremely picky! Excellent experience all around!
