GRESHAM, Ore. (Sept. 5, 2017) — U-Haul Company of Portland is offering 30 days of free U-Box container usage to residents in and around Gresham who have been or will be impacted by the Eagle Creek Fire.
Firefighters have been battling the 4,800-acre fire in the Columbia River Gorge. Overnight winds pushed the wildfire 12 miles westward.
“Hundreds of people are being forced from their homes,” said David Scheafer, U-Haul Company of Portland president. “A major portion of Interstate 84 has been shut down. The fire is nearing the beautiful Multnomah Falls. U-Haul is a member of these communities, so we want to step up and make sure these families have a safe place to keep their belongings.”
