U-Haul of Stratford Square Announces Plans for Expansion

HANOVER PARK, Ill. (March 14, 2017) — Hanover Park residents have relied on their local U-Haul store at 4N275 84th Court for do-it-yourself moving and self-storage for 23 years.

Until recently, U-Haul Moving & Storage of Stratford Square lacked the space to grow and offer more climate-controlled self-storage options. But that is changing thanks to the acquisition of the 1.53-acre property next door at 4N221 84th Court.

“We are excited to reveal the plans for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Stratford Square II,” said Angela Farley, U-Haul Company of Chicago Western Suburbs president. “Climate-controlled self-storage is a much-needed service that our customers demand. This is going to be huge for Hanover Park.”

There will be 112 climate-controlled self-storage rooms at the new facility when renovations are completed this spring. A 2,189-square-foot showroom at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Stratford Square II replaces a much smaller showroom at the original store and offers customers access to a full line of moving supplies.

Contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of Stratford Square at (630) 682-8146 or stop by to visit general manager Jeffrey Mott and his team. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Reserve equipment at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.

“This will be a one-stop shop for moving and self-storage,” Farley said. “There isn’t a lot of climate-controlled storage in this area, so we are excited to bring our state-of-the-art technology, security and affordability to these customers.”

Farley said the expansion will lead to several new positions at the store. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth within the Hanover Park community.

The recent acquisition of the new Stratford Square property was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul® supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
