30 days of free self-storage is available to tenants of Birchwood Terrace on Portage Avenue
WINNIPEG, Man. (May 10, 2024) — U-Haul® Company of Central Canada is offering 30 days of free self-storage to the 250 tenants who are being forced to evacuate their apartment building at 2440 Portage in Winnipeg.
The City of Winnipeg has issued an evacuation of the Portage Avenue apartment block known as Birchwood Terrace over concerns of a potential collapse. The safety order has resulted in hundreds of residents with moving trucks full of personal belongings with nowhere to go.

The 30-day free offer applies to new storage rentals and is based on availability at the Notre Dame store.
