Have the correct rental truck at site...we rented 15ft truck 1/20/22 online for 8am-2pm 1/22/22.. truck was not there...had to take a smaller 10ft truck at 8:30am..text confirmation said rental was from 8am-2pm 1/22/22... later got text stating truck was due back at 10am...we had to go about 40miles round trip plus load/unload a washer/dryer, refrigerator and a queen size bed/mattress/box springs, dresser/mirror, chest of drawers, 2 night stands... I received a call at 10:36am stating my husband was supposed to have truck back by 10am...there is NO WAY ANYONE COULD DO THAT!! In 1.5hrs!! However, I called my husband and fortunately 2 guys helped him and he took truck back at 10:45am...someone else was waiting on this truck...the truck we rented never showed up... Nothing like being made to feel like someone else's needs are more important than your own... Yall have a long way to go on customer service...this goes to show MOST PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY!!Teri W.

However, the entire Uhaul experience was a nightmare. We originally reserved a truck and cat transport 17 Days in advance of our departure date. The DAY before our trip we were being sent all over Central Alabama to get a truck and the auto transport was in a different location too. Then on our pick up date the truck was NOT available at all. We had to drive another 25 miles out of our way to get the truck and the have it loaded. Then drive another 20 miles to get the Auto Transport in a different direction. Talk about a SCREWED system Uhaul has is to say the least. The people at "Traffic Control" do not know where distribution places are in conjunction with needs and people location. I will not be using Uhaul again if I can help it. I will choose your Competitors due to this lack of knowledge and crappy service.Grace M.
This location is also a thrift store. When I went in to rent my trailer it was busy and we kept getting interrupted by shoppers and other employees of the shop. The lady also couldn't print out my paperwork because her printer wasn't working.STEPHANIE B.

I really liked the area it was a convenient place and a safe place to drop off.The key return box was visible.I did have a few issues with the 24 hr truckshare return mobile sight being glitchy and I had to start over a few times before I could get it completed having to start from the beginning each time.dont let your phone time out and it would say not enough memory when I tried to take pictures or would say turn location on in browser,which was already on.i think if you let the phone time out it starts over.go ahead and have back opened and side doors.VANESSA H.

When we got there to pick up the trailer I had rented and hooked up to it. We were having issues with trailer lights not working. After working with it we discovered that there was some kind of shortage in the trailer wiring. So we had to drop that trailer and hook up to another one that luckily the lights were functional on.STEPHANIE B.

Do online rental to ensure availability... I called a couple days before I needed a uhaul to verify hours and was told I may want to rent online to ensure that I got size truck I needed... I did not because I knew they had 2 and when I got there they were both unavailable ...I had to go with a smaller truck... I made it work but should have took their advice...GARY W.

Hidden fees. Was not aware that you have to scan the truck in after hours. I turn in my cart in the same day was still charge an extra 25.00 just for turning in early! Please don't use talladega or childerburg locations. Very poor service! They aren't professional what so ever!JERRICK L.
What you can do is when someone sets up a pickup location for Birmingham Alabama don't change it to make them drive an hour out of the way to pick up a truck. The location was fine for me but when I set up where I wanted to pick up my truck I was not notified about the change in location. When I contacted uhaul about changing the location back to Birmingham I was told that was not an option. As large as a city Birmingham was there were no trucks available to me. I booked my rental over a week in advance and was treated extremely poorly with the customer service. I would recommend y'all to work on that because I will never again use uhaul for anything you have lost my service for the rest of my life.JARED L.

MY LAST TIME TO RENT WITH UHAUL!!! They sent me 21 miles one way to get a truck and transport and then I had to go back 21 miles to load the truck. The mileage was then counted on my mileage allowed on the truck!! This is not the first time this has happened and I complained but I promise it will be the last time!!STEVE H.

I pd cash should have been allowed cash back on deposit instead was told I would have a check mailed to old address then have to forward to new address. Now have to wait a wk to get deposit back. The girl at the Uhaul drop off was very friendly & nice not her fault I will be back to thrift store but not the Uhaul part of it. Uhaul is a business & should have cash on hand for deposits especially if you knew 2 days in advance you had a cash deposit to refund. Dropping another Uhaul tomorrow but wont be the place I drop this one.RUTH C.

The people I dealt with were fantastic I will only rent from them! I went through hell trying to rent online and I won't ever do it again! If I didn't have the people that I rented from I would never have got a u Haul. I write computer programs and still won't ever rent a u Haul online!Debra R.

My ratings have nothing to do with the Presbyterian Home for Children Thrift Store itself. My ratings have everything to do with Uhaul. 1. Not getting what I reserved. 2. A truck with driving issues that hindered me. 3. Returning the truck with no confirmation until 3 days later. All documented and reported to Uhaul with only compensation for what was not with my rental (dolly's). My whole rental had been of a nightmare when it should have been simple, easy, and quick. Receiving a generic email from their field manager (John Manning) of "you are not eligible for any further compensation" and no investigation and/or consideracy to all the issues in my reservation is unacceptable due to ALL the issues I had. Needless to say, I will never rent from Uhaul again and will be sure to tell those of my experience so they don't encounter the same.Ashley M.
First off the truck was dirty, and there was no furniture blankets or dollies in the truck. I called U-Haul to be told it was nothing they could do about getting any blankets or dolly for me. And that was causing a big problem because I was moving antiques. And as you can see I was charge for the blanket and the dolly Driving the truck to my house to load up, the brakes started messing up, so I got my son (which is a certified diesel mechanic) to look at it the next morning and he advised me the truck was dangerous to drive because the brake booster was going out. So needless to say I will tell everyone I know not to ever rent a U-Haul truckEdward T.
I did not get any the appliance dolly, furniture dolly or 5 dozen blankets I ordered. I had to wait on hold for extended periods of time trying to get help. I had to take an hour going to two different locations trying to get the equipment I ordered. I only ended up getting 2 dz. blankets which contributed to my furniture being damaged.Robert B.

When I went to return the vehicle, the U-Haul rep was not there. Someone inside the store called her, and she told me to leave the key. I was not given the opportunity to verify miles,gas or damages. An hour later, we get a bill charging $97. $9.28 for over the miles, and $88.50 for gas, as if I left the gas on empty, which I absolutely did not! I work across the street from the U-Haul. I immediately went over there to verify the mileage and the gas, she was not there. The U-Haul was in the exact spot that I left it. I called her 50 times, she did not answer. Now I'm bout to be late for work, hoping she is there this morning, so I can verify this gas with her, before that vehicle is moved. This verified U-Haul are over charging people for gas, because both times, their calculations were wrong.Mitchell H.

Arrived about 20 minutes after scheduled opening time. Nobody there. Checked in online. Recommend for drop offs, maybe not for pickups. Several waiting to pick up that gave up and left before we completed our online check-in.Ronald L.
