This wasn't our original pick up location but equipment w wasn't returned and the employees did their best to make it right, but the truck we got pulled badly, shook at high speeds, and was soo far out of alignment that the steering wheel was sideways while the wheels were straightKyle M.

Horrible experience. The truck was so loud in the cab I had to blare the music and I could still hear it over the music. The sound would get louder, the more I accelerated. The truck was not properly maintained, I've driven box trucks for years and this truck was not in proper working order. I even feel the truck wasted more gas than needed because of its improper maintenance. My ears hurt for days after the move. Why was the truck so loud in the cab? Why wasn't this fixed before being rented out? What if I was a 70 year old senior citizen with bad hearing? You guys would've killed me with that loud noise; it was horrible! Overpriced horrible experience, never using U-Haul again. I hope U-Haul as a whole plummets, your rates are insane. Makes me want to start my own hauling services it was that bad. Employee's were very friendly when we picked up. When we dropped off same day, the trailer was not checked back in by employee we gave it to. Great staff. Super helpful. Broken elevator was a massive issue, however, as I’m a single mom who had to move her entire household belongings into a third floor level storage. I scheduled an appointment and paid to have a hitch installed. They couldn't do it because they had the wrong part, and they said it would be in in 5-7 days and I'd get a call when it was. 2 weeks later I called to ask when it would be in and it took 6 attempts with talking to representatives to schedule another appointment. The manager guaranteed she would call me if the part wasn't there before my appointment. When I showed up, they didn't have my appointment in the system, but when I mentioned the manager scheduled it, they fit me in. I asked the same manager if they had the part this time and she said she checked already and they do (with attitude). I dropped off my car and a few hours later, I got another invoice for 3x what I had already paid to have the hitch installed. Following that, I got a call saying they couldn't install my hitch because they had the wrong part. When I got there, I asked for a refund and they wouldn't give it to me because they didn't have it marked that it was paid. I was told the manager would call me ASAP. she never called. I tried calling the office 3x and finally on the last call, I was told I'll get a refund in 5-7 days. I've never said I'll never use a company again before - thank you to u haul for being my first.Elise B.

We were charged several fees we weren't told about and when extending another day we were charged a lot more than the intial day. It was advertised as $20 a day for in town uhaul and we were just taking stuff down the road. After 2 days we were charged almost $200 and we returned it on time the 2nd day. This is very shady business practice and I dont feel comfortable having my card on file with this company since I found out after calling that I can get charged whatever and no one can help me with it.David A.

I would recommend to someone because of how many options there are but the customer service definitely needs some work. We stood around for about 5 minutes while 3 other employees were standing around talking to each other, until the owner came up and asked if we'd been helped. I know that isn't long, but I've worked in customer service 10+ and I would've at least said, â€œwe'll be with you in just a momentâ€ or something. I believe most of us can tell when a workplace has an environment where most don't care about good customer service or wanting to help, and this seems to be the case here.Bethany C.

The people at the front desk are all very helpful and great have great customer service. My biggest complaint was that my units are on the second floor, the elevator was broken, and my moving crew had to unload and carry a truckload of heavy furniture and boxes upstairs on a 101 degree day. That was awful for them and I was afraid they were going to have heat stroke.Sarah B.
I had reserved storage in Springdale and reserved a truck in ozark. When I picked the truck up, the storage building was "no longer available". So I had to reserve a different unit in Roger's, but still had to drive back to springdale to drop off the truck which put me over the milage. No email telling me where to pick up the van so I went to the storage place where I reserved it and of course it's not there it's across town. When we got there just 1 employee and 3 people in line and it took almost a 1/2 hr to get the van but still got charged for a 10:00 start! You advertise everywhere that it's $19.95 plus miles but somehow my bill was almost $100! I did end up getting the email for pick up it was after I dropped off the van about 3 hours later! Don't plan to use u haul ever again! One of the worst run companies I've ever used! I'm not just complaining here I plan to do so on social media as well!Mark G.

I was excited that I could have a trailer hitch installed For half the price of most places. I called and made the appointment. They didn't have the the part so they ordered it and set the appointment for 3 weeks out to be sure that the part would be in. It wasn't until the night before my 7:00 am appointment that I received a call that my part was not in and it had not even shipped yet. They bumped my appointment a week out. I called twice toward the end of the week to check if the part had come in. No one from the local store would answer my calls. I had to speak with call center customer service people who could not answer most of my questions. They would message the local store asking them to call me, but I would never get a call back. I had to take a chance that the part had come in and make the 20 mile trip to the store for my 7:00am appointment. I was told when I scheduled the appointment that my hitch install would take about 3 hours on the phone. When I got to the location the story changed to, it could take until the end of the day, 5:30, because the guy who does the installs doesn't get in until later. This would have been great to know ahead of time! So I had to rent a vehicle to get home. Of course the only vehicle available was a big box truck. They were nice enough to offer it at a pick up truck rate, but with fuel prices as high as they are and my house being 20 miles from the store, I had to pay an extra $100 I was not expecting. I love my hitch, but I am very disappointed and upset with my experience and with the customer service.Tony A.

I was informed gas would be $4.85/gallon. I returned it just under the amount I picked it up with. I was charged six gallons, which is way more than I expected and a $30 fee to put those six gallons in, which is ludicrous. We parked the vehicle out back and the worker said he would bring it around after we told him we would. I cannot wrap my hands around the $30 fee to put six gallons of gas into the vehicle and I would dispute the six gallons. I would think 2-4 would have brought it to that level.Chris T.

Hi I have a couple of issues with the referenced storage contract. First: We arrived at the UHaul on 8th Street in Rogers, AR on May28. Our plan was to unload the furnishing from the UHaul truck that we had rented into the storage unit that we had reserved in Rogers. Upon arrival, we discovered that the elevator did not work. Our unit was on the 2nd floor. As you can imagine, the task of moving furnishings from the truck to storage was increased exponentially. When my wife and I – who are both in our mid sixties – originally decided to help our daughter, we knew it would be a hard job, but we felt sure we were up to it. Had we known we would be required to: Load carts, Move loaded carts inside, Unload carts, Carry items one-by-one up two flights of stairs, Load carts again, Move loaded carts to storage unit, Unload carts again – we no doubt would have found a storage facility with working elevators. I’m not one to ask for something like this but it would seem that some compensation is in order. As we will be moving the furnishings from storage to our daughter’s apartment, I respectfully and humbly request that you consider something in the way of moving labor. Second: Also upon arrival at the 8th Street UHaul storage, we asked if we could possibly get a larger unit. The lady at the desk (sorry, did not get her name) suggested that we get 2 units because she believed that the wider and less deep units that she suggested were easier to get things in and out of. That made sense to me but I specifically told her that I didn’t want to be charged for 2 units – otherwise I would just get one unit that equaled the size of the 2 units that she suggested. We would just deal with the more difficult access of the one unit. SHE ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD ONLY BE CHARGED AS IF IT WAS ONE UNIT. Now I see that I will be billed for 2 units. I reserved a 26ft truck but it was not available. I settled for a 15ft truck and paid standard rates. They offered reduced mileage rate but I only drove 20 miles. I had to extend my rental a day because I couldn't fit everything in the smaller truck and was charged extra for extending the rental. All in all I'm pretty disappointed. Also, I don't think I got my $50 reserved truck guarantee that was due. The manager Skyler said that's separate but I forgot to ask about it when I returned the truck.Ryan K.

Uhaul wasn't swept or cleaned. Filthy with dirt/ mud. Then after loading it all, when we went to unload found all the top boxes were wet and ruined. Bottoms fell out of our boxes and items were soaked because the uhaul leaked. Tried to call but spent 2 hours on hold.Chris K.

I want to put in a big word of thanks to Skyler Zaage. When I arrived at the location on Thursday morning, Skyler was dealing with an angry customer whose attitude and language became more and more disrespectful and inappropriate over the course of several minutes. When I attempted to intervene by asking the customer to adjust his tone, he began berating me with vulgarities and threats. Skyler maintained composure through all of this, eventually asking the customer to leave, which he did. Often, the large sliding doors weren't unlocked which was inconvenient. I tried using the call button several times to talk to the office but it wasn't answered. I drove around and they walked to unlock but I think that should be done without customers asking. Yesterday was our final visit and the doors were still locked at 12:00. I was told that I would have access to my unit up until 10 pm and I have yet to be able to get into it after 7 pm. I have called and called and no one has ever called me back from the location to get this fixed. I work long hours and can never get up there in person to get it fixed. Josh helped me select the right unit, unit location and made a great recommendation using the movinghelp.com app to get people to help unload the truck. I ended up using a company called Fresh Start and they did a great job. They showed up 15 minutes early. He made sure I could get them close together with close access to the elevator. Susana (I think that was her name. She has red hair and is very friendly) did a great job checking my rental in and answered my questions about the facility. Facility was clean. Staff was unhelpful and not at all confident in their answers/actions. The first 3 months i got charged late fees because whoever did the billing didn't know how to set up auto draft. Finally got that figured out. As I was cleaning out my storage building and terminating my contract staff was unwilling to listen. I told them I was moving out and the guy at the desk said clean out your room and we will come check you out. I cleaned out my room and called on the intercom, that guy asked me 3 times if I had cleaned out my room then said they didn't need to check me out and I had to go back up front. There's a sign that says we have access until 10pm but I am here at 8:16 pm and have no access. I have tried calling and texting the site manager for help atleast 10 times and even had U-Haul customer service try to get ahold of him. Got our unit online. Would have been nice to see where our unit(s) was beforehand. Didn't realize that there would be an elevator involved. And our 10x20 was actually two separate 10x10's. But loved the carts being available.Joanna S. | Overall Experience

We were told that we would have a 10x20, but it ended up that we were given two 10x10's. Good thing we didn't have anything longer than 10 feet to store. Would be nice if what you were getting was made clear at the onset of the process, not when we checked in that day. We were also unaware (until check-in) that we would be having to go up to the second floor with all of our things. That wasn't fun. However, on your behalf, there were carts to use and the elevator was big enough for 4 carts at a time, so that was nice. In hind sight, we would have much preferred to know that we were getting a unit on the ground floor, or at least had the opportunity to request one. So while everyone was nice, the facilities were clean and well lit, the carts were provided...having direct access (without going through sliding glass doors and up/down elevators for every trip) would have made it much better for us.Joanna S. | First Impressions
We recently moved to Arkansas, and the month of storage here was invaluable. We finally got moved in to a new house and got our storage unit cleared out, but there was a hiccup when I called to cancel our storage unit, and we were billed for another month, plus a late fee. I came in and talked to someone and the issue was cleared up immediately, and I didn’t have to pay anything extra.
