The employee simply took the keys and said he would return it and didn't until the next day past the return time. Also I had to travel 35 mins to pick up the truck and for that reason my mileage was over and I don't feel I should have been charged. Very disappointed!Terri R.

I was disappointed to discover that the rental would not be available for the entire day, as I was told. This was altered when someone booked the same vehicle online and then I was limited to certain hours. Instead of getting things done within the day at a calm pace, it added undo stress to try and rush things. As friendly and courteous as the store owners are, this did not making renting a Uhaul a great experience, hence the rating of average. This 'hourly thing' implemented by Uhaul can be considered a good thing to make excess money, but not when it takes away from the need of the initial individual who was wanting the rental for the entire day. **Daily rental needs to still be an option!**Kimberly C.

The location owner or general manager was obnoxious and arrogant. The lady running the pickup was extremely unorganized. I do understand she had a lot going on BUT the truck was not prepared for my pick-up time of 3:30pm. The dolly we had reserved was not available until after 4pm, the gas was left very low (not even enough to make the trip to my moving location, I had to fill up twice just to get there). She noted down the incorrect mileage (higher than it was) so I was unable to do the drop off correctly. She attempted to change the drop off location the same as the pick-up location - I was going from London to Guelph and even though the original drop-off location was set in Guelph she tried to change it back to her store in London so I had to get that corrected. Contacting the store was difficult as she would not answer the phone. The lights on the truck were turned off, which is partially my own problem for neglegence however I feel it would be beneficial to set your customers up for success. Between all of this she had her boss on speaker phone arguing with another unhappy customer having difficulty with a cashback offer they were not prepared for. Just straight up not a good time, even though pickup was at 3:30 I wasn't able to leave the lot until 4:15pmJacob G.

The truck was fine. I completed my rental and returned the truck in approximately 3 hours and filled it above the gas level I received it at, which was only 1/4 full. Upon return I did not receive an invoice or any paper work. In the next 24 hours I received numerous emails from U Haul regarding my rental agreement because they did not show the truck as being returned. I called the 1 800 GO U HAUL number to discuss this with an agent but my call was cut off abruptly. The next call was to the person I dealt with when I picked the truck up. He stated he had not completed the return but would do so right away and email me the invoice, which I received a short time later. All the emails from U Haul could have been avoided had the person at the pick up location, Westside Variety, 107 Mt. Pleasant Ave, London, completed the return information on time. He had plenty of time all day as the truck had been returned at approximately 12:15 pm. U Haul trucks are good value for the money, however I would not use this particular location again.Dan T.

We were supposed to pick up our moving truck at 8am. Upon arrival, there were no keys left in the pick up box. We called the call centre and they told us that we would have to wait until 9am and return to the location once it opened. We returned at 9am and the doors were locked and the location was still closed. We called the location, and the employee told us that the reason the keys were not in the box is because the locks at been cut off two nights prior. If this was the case, a call would have been appreciated telling us that we could not pick up until 9am. The employee then told us he was 5 minutes away, and did not arrive until 9:30am. This made our moving experience quite stressful as we were already 1.5 hours behind schedule and only had a certain window of time in which we were able to move. We are extremely disappointed in this location and expect to be refunded for this experience.Zachariah S.

The representative set my drop off location 10 miles away from my destination. He told me it was the closet and as I was in a hurry because he came in 30 mins late to check me out, I agreed. Later when I was about to drop the truck, I see on the maps that there are at least 4 drop-off locations within a mile from me! I tried reaching out to the Support Helpline to change the drop-off location but they dropped my call on 3 separate occasions. And so I had to drive at least 10 miles away, pay extra for gas and mileage, thanks to U-haul's customer service.SHEBIN S.

I was charged for damage coverage despite explicitly declining it. My reservation shows I declined coverage while no hard copy or e-mail receipt was sent to me before dispatch and I saw the damage coverage of $15 plus taxes after dropping off the truck. The owner refused to give refund despite presenting very strong evidence that he had made an error. Furthermore, there appeared to be a problem with the truck transmission.Abbas M.
I attempted to use the 24/7 check-in but abandoned it for in person check in. It was not clear that the online check in would take a significant amount of time, nor that it would require UHAUL contacting people to verify my identity. My driver's license and credit card should be sufficient. The web portal was unclear, almost deceptive, and the opposite of convenient. I will avoid it whenever possible. On the other hand, the attendant was FANTASTIC! Very helpful, knew how to navigate the internal UHAUL network problems and get me out the door in less than a quarter of the time I wasted trying to get through the online check in. In an increasingly online service world, UHAUL needs to step it up or you risk obsolescence.Justin H.

Booked online for 9:30am pickup, hours of operation said open at 8:00am, we also booked a dolly with the vehicle. Arrived at location at 9:15am, no one there. Called number on paper stuck to door of shop, owner of shop said we just needed to book online. We needed the dolly which was locked in his shop. Waited until 9:50am before he showed up to complete the transaction making us late for scheduled arrival at place we were to move items out of. Very disappointed in U-Haul at this location, will never use again! Owner didn't seem to care that he wasn't there on time or that it put us behind schedule. When I arrived for pickup, nobody was at the location. I did the virtual pickup using a cell phone, but one instruction was to go inside and get the key from the attendant. There was no such person. There was a number to call. After a ton of time and stress, someone finally arrived and it was super sketchy the whole time. I wasn't on the road till an hour after my scheduled pickup time. Clearly the truck had not been prep-ed. It was dirty, ad in the windshield, no blankets in the back. The customer service rep I talked to when I made the reservation in the first place was also terrible. They could not understand me to answer simple questions, and they apparently wrote my phone number down incorrectly. It was a terrible, stressful experience from start to finish.Emerson D.

This U-Haul is not flexible with the return of the vehicle. For example the e enterprise car rental of a certain area will collaborate an share the vehicle to accommodate s customer that needs to extend their vehicle rental. U haul failed at doing that . I had to interrupt a move to bring back the vehicle to u haul.... 2h drive . When i notify u haul that i. Would need the vehicle for few more hours. I was forced to cancel a 1-way booking made 10 days prior, when advised by uhaul the day before my July 1 move that the truck pickup location was in a city 40 min away. I then spent too much wasted time on uhaul website and on phone and was not allowed any option for re-booking for July 1! I stopped in at the Mt. Pleasant location and Pardeep, operator of this location, gave me immediate first-class attention. He worked to trouble-shoot and expedite my situation.
