This was one of the worst U-Haul rental experiences I have had. I had a reservation for a 9’ Cargo Van from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and intentionally arrived approximately 20 minutes early because I had another appointment at 2:30 PM. The pickup process was unnecessarily delayed due to verification issues and then being given the wrong cargo van. I was repeatedly told that we had been changing the reservation, even though I did not make any changes to my reservation. Once the correct van was brought out, my wife was treated very rudely while simply checking the mileage and fuel level. She was yelled at and accused of driving the vehicle even though she was not driving it. The vehicle was provided with approximately 1/4 tank of gas, but the contract stated that it had a full tank. The contract also showed approximately 7,402 miles, while we actually received the vehicle at approximately 7,412 miles. We returned it at approximately 7,440.2 miles. We have photographs documenting the actual mileage and fuel level at pickup. Because of the delays, we did not leave the location until approximately 1:53 PM and were late to our appointment. We also had to stop and get gas in the opposite direction, creating additional inconvenience and mileage. The return process was also extremely unprofessional. AJ was rude and argumentative with my wife and made her wait approximately 15–20 minutes while our children were crying and upset in the vehicle. We understand that the vehicle needs to be inspected, but the way the situation was handled was completely unnecessary. I am extremely disappointed with this location and would not recommend it to anyone based on this experience. I have already contacted U-Haul Customer Service and am submitting a formal complaint regarding the treatment we received, the inaccurate fuel documentation, mileage discrepancy, and charges. I hope U-Haul addresses these issues so another customer does not have to experience the same treatment.
