Truck was filthy, both in the cab and in the box. There was damage to the box of the truck and I was not able to use the web interface to document it. We had requested 12 blankets but were only supplied six. The person checking the truck back in when we returned was awesome, though, and she deserves a bonus/raise.

Some trash from previous users was still in the van. The folks behind the counter at the gas station who helped with pick up and return came off as a bit disgruntled and not very confident with the uhaul process.

Where do I even begin... the attendants have no idea what they're doing and nobody was wearing their mask properly which made me scared for my safety. First, there was no mention of there not being ramps in the truck, which. Plus have been my fault for assuming but it was super frustrating and made everything harder. The woman who gave me the truck didn't mention that the dollys were not preloaded into the truck and have my the keys and when I got to my apartment there were no dollys. I called and she very rudely told me that she told me they were not in the truck which I promise you she did not or I would have grabbed them because moving without dollys or a ramp? Hell. Then when I returned the truck the woman taking my mileage was new and her supervisor was not helping her at all. He was very rude. When I went in and told him I wanted the refund for the dollys it took him 15 minutes to figure out the system to be able to do the refund all while a line of people waited. This was the absolute worst experience and it makes me never want to use a uhaul service ever again.

- Using the app to pick up & return our truck was complete pain. I would take a picture of my license, and then it would just spin- not say "error", or let me start over- just spin. The app experience was so bad, that when returning the truck we tried to do it in-person, in the building, but we were told we have to return it with the app as well!! Absolutely frustrating. - The inside of the truck was really muddy. We were moving our couches and beds so this was completely unacceptable. It obviously wasn't cleaned before we picked it up. - When we ordered the truck, we ordered a smaller hand truck. When we picked up the truck, we were told that they only had the large appliance hand trucks. I asked when the normal hand trucks would be back, and the lady said "I don't know, I just got here". We had to move with the large, awkward hand truck. Why even let us choose it in the drop-down if it's not available?? We will be moving again in a couple months when our new place is ready and I will DEFINITELY be giving my hard earned money to a different van rental company next time.

Tank was not full of gas but I was expected to have a full tank of gas when it was returned. Was told that 4 gallons of gas were used. Incorrect as I did not receive van with a full tank of gas. Will be contacting corporate for refund

Hire someone to be exclusive to u-haul. The staff is clearly trying to do 5 jobs at once which is ridiculous. U-haul should staff their services. Engine sounded like it was going to give out any moment (had to keep foot heavy on break so it did not take off)

It seems the attendants at this location do not have drivers licenses— the most difficult part of pick up was how unreasonably close the vehicles were parked together.

The location is fine. They $20 after hour fee which added 35% to my charges was quite a surprise and a complete rip off. I returned my truck over 12 hours early and was charged extra - this is a Uhaul problem not a location problem.

A different credit card, from the one on reservation was requested to be applied when I initially picked up the rental truck. But it was not applied. Instead the one on reservation got charged. Better observation to what a customer request needs to be observed better. There was difficulty getting the charges reversed.

Self check in took just as long as doing it in person. Took 10 minutes just to be “approved”. Very time consuming. Equipment wasn't clean and still had to go into a store to pick up keys which defeats the purpose of self check in.

Please ask attendants to keep their masks on. My reservation was changed without timely notification. Although I know it's not the fault of the attendant, the company should have a better way to handle it. I ended up spending more for a bigger truck that I didn't need or request in the first place. Usually I have a great experience with this company but will likely not use in the future

The truck smelled so offensive I had to drive the entire time with the windows down the entire time. Within a few min driving it I had to stop at a store to purchase a can of febreeze to spray in the truck just so zi could tolerate driving it any more.

I've been a loyal U-Haul customer for several years but after this last experience I am not sure I'll be back. When I picked up my U-Haul at the 76 Gas Station on NE Broadway the employees were not wearing masks over their faces and noses. As I stood in line over 10 feet away from the women, one of them walked towards me without her mask on. I moved quickly away from her as she left the building to pump someones gas. Two other patrons entered the building and one didn't have a mask on either, no one said anything.. When I opened the U-Haul the cabin was filthy. It was covered in dirt and a sticky substance. It also stunk of Axe Body Spray. I didn't want to go back into the 76 because my initial experience was so traumatizing, so I drove home and immediately showered. The next day, after I drove to my storage unit and opened the back of the truck, I noticed the entire flatbed was covered in dirt and and plant debris. Additionally there was white fluffy stuffing all over the floor as well To top off this mess, the dolly I ordered wasn't in the back of the truck. If you do one good thing for yourself today, DO NOT rent a U-Haul from the people at the 76 on NE Broadway.

I reserved a truck over 24 hours in advance. When it was time to perform the online check in, the system did not recognize my email, phone number, or order number, disallowing me to perform the online check out. I then drive to the uhual location and arrived before my reservation time. It took over 40 minutes to get my truck because a "manual transaction" was required in order for me to complete the process and take the truck. The employee at the location was extremely professional and helpful and made several calls but was still unable to complete the process. She told me "the district manager will finish the process. You can take the truck and we will handle the rest." I took the truck and returned it approximately 3 hours later. When returning I was behind another customer who seemed concerned or frustrated. After waiting my turn I was told that the uhual system was down and that this location would file a note saying I returned the truck on time. I was told not to worry if the truck gets stolen because uhual would see the note the next day when the system was online and that security footage from the gas station could be used to determine that I returned the truck appropriately if any theft or other issues arise. I understand this is in no way the fault of the location employee, but this entire experience makes it very unlikely that I will use uhual in the future, especially knowing that going through the extra efforts of reserving online are actually detrimental to time effiecieny and planning, as well as the fact that I could potentially be viewed as liable for a returned truck being stolen or otherwise damaged after it has been appropriately returned.

U-haul needs to make a CLEAR statement online when making reservations that NOTHING IS GUARANTEED upon your arrival to pick up your rental.

I know it will not change a thing but the entire transaction was such a crap show.......change of location to get the van the night before, giving my van to someone else after I paid for it in front of me and telling that I didn't reserve the van even with my reservation number and my payment info!!! ...getting a different and disgusting truck over an hour later and being charge for cleaning fee for it!!! Had to literally wipe the seats off and could not see through the windshield. The side view mirror was half broken and unsafe!! Overall attitude, was charged fees for services not rendered....a total scam....btw. First review I write in my life....thanks u-haul!

I ordered 2 dolly's but they were not in the truck or mentioned at check in so I was unable to use them for my move. Would be helpful to have an associate direct customer on equipment use. Other than that it was an excellent experience.

The website rental experience was truly awful and I'd actively discourage friends and family from using it. We weren't able to actually get approval for our rental until one hour into the rental slot. Customer service was slow and unhelpful, and one rep was borderline unprofessional. Overall, the stress and hassle incurred wasn't worth it, and I will not use this service again.

This was the dirtiest truck I have ever rented, and my second one this week. It had not been cleaned inside beyond vacuuming in a VERY long time. In a time like this cleanliness and feeling safe is super important, this truck was disgusting.

The online pick-up is glitchy and ineffective. I've never been so frustrated with an app. I had issues with the app being able to locate me. After 15 minutes it was able to locate me, but then I was asked for information I already gave for my reservation. Once I input that information, the app glitched back to the start screen. I restarted the process, but I didn't need that information I previously did to check-out the vehicle. It is very clear this app has a lot of bugs. For a pick-up option that claims to be easier, I would have much rather worked with a person. In fact - If it weren't for the helpful store clerk, I would not have been able to check-out my van. I'm really disappointed and I definitely will not be using U-haul services again.

I am requesting U-haul credit back the entire rental fee. When I showed up the van I had reserved for pickup and the van I was "assigned" was not on the lot. I waited a bit for it to arrive. It did not. The rep on site said she could not help me. I had to wait over 15 minutes on hold then when I called U-haul to speak to a representative and was forced to rent a more expensive 10' foot truck and was delayed more than an hour before I could drive. This was a frustrating experience to say the least.

If someone is picking up the car via mobile phone, please let them know that they will need supporting documentation such as passport or lease beforehand because we were not aware and it made things complicated

We are being charged a cleaning fee when the truck was the dirtiest rental I've ever received. There was a mask and goggles in the door from a previous rental. Looks to have been there for some time now. Debris all over and windows were filthy. Location wasn't following Covid procedures adequately. Tried calling the corporate number to dispute charges and got disconnected 3 times, with a message saying “something went wrong”. Tried calling both area managers. Left a message with one, who never called me back and the other never answered. I've rented U-Haul trucks at least 20 times in the last decade, as I've moved a bunch and never have I had such a lousy experience with any rental company. I'll try calling again on Monday to deal with this and if I can't get a hold of someone I'll be disputing the charge. If you can't in good faith, talk to your customers, then you don't deserve my money.

When i walked in a surly cashier growled " you can't return that here". I said i can and i will..i live 4 blocks away . when she said don't raise your voice another cashier started yelling at me and another guy started lectureing me on how they don't really work for U-Haul. I asked to speak to the manager they called him and the issue was resolved and then they started treating me less hostil. When i made the reservation online no one could find it. I finally talked to a man who was helpful and made a reservation for me. I dread the day I have to deal with U-Haul again.

I was sent to this location from the Belmont location on 1st ave. I was originally scheduled to get a uhaul at the rose city Belmont location but someone locked the keys in the car. They called me and told me that I needed to wait an hour for the person to arrive to unlock the uhual. I waited and drove there an hour later. They had not unlocked the uhaul. They sent me to the 76 station on Broadway and they didnt have a van for me either. I eventually had to drive a bigger truck which cost me more in gas. Very unprofessional.

Really disappointed in the U-Haul website. On my receipt, it listed a completely different location from this 76 station, Union Market and Deli. On another page, it listed this gas station. This hiccup impacted my start times with using my U-Haul. I would like to be given a discount or compensated for this frustrating matter. Please call the Union Market and Deli if you have questions, but I was extremely dissatisfied and am planning to not use U-Haul in the future if it is this confusing.

Richard provided excellent customer service, was very polite and friendly. This is exceptional in the current social distancing environment we are living in. Also noteworthy is that this is also a gas station meaning the agents representing customers are also assisting people waiting for gas service, etc. A great location.

Nothing really, I had rented twice recently at the location on ne Sandy Blvd. The last time visit when asked at that location how they were doing, replied they didn't want to be there. Contrast that with Sheri, the service rep at this location, who was very polite, friendly and positive. Sheri is a great asset.

The women who helped me return the uhaul were so helpful! I was definitely frazzled after a day of moving and they made the entire experience easy and pleasant. I can't rate their customer service highly enough. This was my first time using uhaul and I'll definitely be a return customer.

I was very appreciative that these services were still available during the COVID outbreak however none of the staff were protected or wearing any ppe whatsoever. To me this makes me think Uhaul is not concerned about the welfare of their staff who have chosen to work and be exposed at this time. Unless this changes I don't think people should be renting from Uhaul at this time.
