I chose to reserve a 15’ Uhaul at the West Main Tupelo, MS location for pick up and drop off using the Uhaul app 5 days prior to the day needing a truck. I chose to use the mobile app to pick up and drop off the truck. When I arrived to the West Main location and opened my app the pickup location was set to Hwy 78 towing and recovery. I asked the people there if this was right and why I didn’t get the location I chose. They said it was my preferred location and Uhaul will sometimes choose the closest location if a truck isn’t available at theirs. So I drove about 3 miles to the other location and proceeded to use the app to pick up the truck. When I got the keys and checked the truck there wasn’t a dolly in it. The man at the location provided a dolly for me. And then it wouldn’t let me finish the pickup myself. They had to call someone for me to talk to do finish the reservation. It took about 15 minutes longer than I anticipated due to this issue. If a contactless mobile pickup is available then I should be able to do it that way. Everything else went fine with the truck and the drop off was smoother and it allowed me to use the app for drop off completely at that location. The man I talked to was worried about me not bringing the truck back because someone else dropped one of his trucks off at another location. That seemed unprofessional as I have been using Uhaul for 20 years and never once had this issue myself. It would be nice to have the equipment available with all the options I chose to reserve like a dolly present so that I can pick up and drop off the Uhaul using the app as advertised on the app.
Christopher OAt the initial drop off, no one was at the site to help me stage and detach the trailer, which was fine. But when forgot to leave paperwork and came back next day. There was a gentleman there and he was more than polite. Didn't catch his name, but struck me as someone who would have been most helpful if he had been around on my first visit.
