Central location. Unfortunately on drop off at 9 am on July 3, 2025 the employees had placed a pick up truck blocking access to the lot. I parked Uhaul on the street and went in to speak to someone. The door was unlocked and the space was fully accessible but no one was there. Someone could easily just have stolen everything in that business. I had to park the uhaul tight beside the pick up truck and partially on the sidewalk blocking pedestrian access and drop the keys. Which ever employee was working that morning made a severe mistake which could have left the business vulnerable to theft, impeded pedestrian traffic, and lost a customer.

Francis SI rented two dollies from this location around noon on Monday, June 30th. Since the next day (July 1st) was a statutory holiday, I explicitly asked your representative if I could return them on Tuesday. The representative clearly stated that your location would be open, and I could return them anytime on July 1st. Based on this assurance, I returned around 4:00 pm on July 1st. To my surprise, upon arrival, the representative informed me that I would be charged for two days. At no point during the initial transaction was it communicated that returns after noon would result in an additional day’s charge. When I politely questioned why this critical detail was not provided upfront, the representative rudely responded by implying that I should have known this policy, stating, “You should know this since you know the day rate.” This dismissive and disrespectful attitude toward a customer’s genuine concern is completely unacceptable. Furthermore, I asked to speak with the manager in hopes of resolving this misunderstanding. Unfortunately, the manager approached the situation in an even more offensive manner. His exact words were, “So you took the dolly for two days and now you only want to pay for one day?” The manager’s condescending and accusatory tone was highly inappropriate, disrespectful, and offensive. It was not only an attempt to embarrass me in front of others but also demonstrated a lack of basic professionalism and customer care. I strongly suggest that you take immediate action to retrain your employees on proper communication of rental policies and to reinforce respectful customer interactions. Customers should never be subjected to condescending or offensive remarks, especially from management. I expect a prompt response and appropriate action regarding this situation. Vaibhav CI really don’t like that the truck does not have a full gas tank. It’s always a guessing game as to how much gas to put in. Inevitably the customer ends up putting more gas in then they need to, which is good for the company and I guess good for the next customer, who will also have to guess how much gas to put in, and so on and so on. This guessing game and overpaying would end, if when returning the truck, the tank had to be full!

Tara BI was disappointed with the treatment I received from the customer service representative at the calling center. Unfortunately, the representative made a comment about my Spanish accent, which made me feel uncomfortable and unfairly judged. As a Mexican individual, I am deeply aware of the racism and biases that many people from my community face, particularly in the United States. I want to emphasize that my experience with the local U-Haul staff in Calgary was excellent, and I appreciate their professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, the calling center representative's comment left a sour taste in my mouth and made me feel unwelcome. I hope that U-Haul will take steps to address this issue and provide cultural sensitivity training to their customer service representatives. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their accent or cultural background.

Muhammad AI was charged a $10 fuel fill up even though the vehicle was with the same gauge reading. The agent I spoke to said they had a photo of the original gauge reading and suggested I return to the rental location to see it. I travelled 35 k and refueled 5 litres of gasoline. This should have been enough to replace the gas used. I hate when a business sucks extra money from a customer that is unwarranted. This is not good business practice.

Carlos SStaff were friendly. It would be nice to know that the truck has trouble with the ignition. You need to turn the key (hard), turn the steering wheel to the left, and step on brake. If you don't know this, it can be scary. Also, take 5 seconds and vacuum cookie crumbs out of the cup holder. That's gross.

Steven CAlthough the location etc was great, I’m actually very disappointed with the service. Upon taking the truck the fuel gauge says 321km and the take was quarterly empty. Upon returning the vehicle, I overfilled and the rep was fairly rude by saying, there’s nothing you can do. Should the truck come with a full tank, I would have happily return it full but when I returned with almost 400km, 80km over what I had taken they said there’s no way they can refund. Bad experience.

Not only did I not get my usual for a solid hour after the pick up time due to their lack of communication & disjointed processes but I was charged a crazy amount for less than what I used at another facility. At another U-Haul I had a bigger truck AND drove more yet I paid less than what I did at this location with a smaller truck and less km / less gas used. The facilities were gross, dirty & unwelcoming - like an old broken down make shift office. I will never use U-haul again.

I don't understand why the app needed my card information, or even to book on the app, because the people at the location did not go through the booking, we didn't get the two dollies we books, and we had to put a deposit of $185 before we were allowed to get the truck. The booking was $60, which was to include the two dollies, yet, no dollies, we had to request a dollies. We also had requested through the app we wanted it for 24 hours, we had to bring it back by 530pm the same day.

Kate TWhen arrived to the office to pick up the van , I was told I needed to provide the credit card as this was “ the policy of the manager “ The fact that I had an email with reservation confirmation saying that all major credit and debit cards were accepted was ignored As I didn’t have the credit card with me , I lost valuable one hour that I could have spent moving . Suggestion for the location: Please make sure your policies do not contradict the policies outlined on the website.
