Pickup was confusing. The truck was full of dirt and smelled like a barn.

VALENCIA EI told the lady who attended me that I didn't want moving insurance, she ignored me and charged me anyway. They gave me my money back but I had to repeat to her once again that they shouldn't charge me because I never asked for it.

DAVID UThe gal helping out screwed up the contract and priced us the price for 26’ truck instead of for a 20’ truck. She told us the price was the same for a 20’ and a 26’ truck when on the u haul website the 20’ truck was a $100 cheaper. We also found French fries not cleaned under the dashboard.
JEFFREY JIt was the worst experience renting a truck. I was told to pick up the truck in one location at 7 AM. After being in the phone for almost one hour I finally have to drive to a different location because the renting was not set up in your part. I would like to receive compensation for the waste of time I had and the hustle of going around. People that I was paying had to wait for me to arrive with the truck.

TANYA JThe location was not the issue. The afterhours pickup procedure was incomprehensible, and even with a U-Haul helper on the phone, my pickup lasted almost an hour. There were two other people picking up at the same time, and they were also stymied--one person had been there for a while before I arrived, and was still there (and alternately furious and despondent) when I left. The other managed to figure it out, they said it took them almost an hour. I would never ever even attempt to use the afterhours pickup again.

Truck share stopped working halfway through and then I needed to call for help and wait on hold for 20 minutes. Worst U-Haul experience yet and I’ve used U-Haul at least 5 times without issue

MARK EI spoke with a customer service rep on 8/11 when the rental was returned. My account was charged twice. The accurate amount and I was charged again for another amount. I requesting my account be refunded back $154.19. You charged my account against my knowledge

ARACELI CWhen you reserve a vehicle through U-Haul, somewhere on the webpage where the location you are renting from should mention that there is nobody onsite. There were 4 other people trying to figure out how to get there rented vehicles when I showed up. I come to find out you need to download the app, take pictures of everything, then get a code to open the lockbox where your keys are. I was over 45 minutes late to my destination trying to figure this all out, not only because it was my first time, but the app has bugs in it that keep kicking you off the app. This happened to me and I did not receive a 4 digit code for my rental keys. I texted and I called customer service and was on hold for over 25 minutes. I was finally able to communicate my problem with getting the keys and someone was able to help me through text message. Returning the truck was another joke. Taking pictures of everything, which I get, but the app kicked me off 2 times and wouldn’t let me checkout. I hope I did everything right. On top of that you had to remember the key code and your box number to put the keys back into the lockbox. This locations’ drop box was for out of town keys and if you dropped your keys into that box, you would get charged $25 fee for putting them in there. Overall it was a bad experience. I use U-haul occasionally but this location was by far the worst and I will not be going back.

Joel Cusing the app was not as easy as I expected and a couple of times I had to retake a few pictures. Being the first time I rented using the app, it would have made it much faster easier for me, the client to have a U haul person that works there knows what to do to get me out of there fast. I'm sorry, I like the old way better. I'm sure it is much less expensive than having an employee there during work hours. I'm sure that the next time I rent, it will be faster for me.

KANETHA TDropoff at 2333 Washington was so easy! I left my Taino necklace in the truck and the employee not only kept it but fixed it when my mom came to pick it up. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE, 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!
Trinity RThe time it took to pick up (an hour) and drop off (2 hours) was ridiculous and unacceptable. The Uhaul app crashed when I was 80% complete with return only to not even have that day’s reservation even listed in the app. Chat was slow and phone numbers for assistance gave no reply on a Saturday evening. Very disappointed even though I like using Uhaul for self moves.
Christine RI had a terrible pick up experience. It took over an hour to final get vehicle. Uhaul called me the day before and informed mobile pick-up was not completed by the office is Saturday and that the office would be open Sunday and a staff member would be on site due to the issue of mobile checkout not completed by Uhaul on Saturday. There was no one there Sunday morning, it took numerous calls and waiting on hold. Terrible experience.

James HListen , do not have an option for desk/ in person pick up and ultimately not have this available . I have an updated u haul app, I have used uhaul before . I like uhaul . I did not like arriving to a locked location with a piece of paper taped to the door with instructions that did not align with what was on the screen of my updated app - I/e “pick up my truck .” Maybe that wasn’t available because I reserved with an in person pick up . Thank God I checked in early with a license upload , who knows what other hoops I would have had to jump through had I not done that .
Christopher BIt was the fourth of July and another location had accepted my reservation but there was no one there. I transferred my reservation to this location and called then. The most helpful women guided me through the whole process. I am extremely pleased by the help I got here after what could have been a tough situation since I had to move that day! Thank you!!
Kate FMake sure that the person is there on time. The location was supposed to open at 8am. I was there 5 mins till 8am. Also the App DIDNT WORK. The person who works there didn't show up until 8:45am. Because of this my movers (hired through Uhaul) couldn't start at the original time of 9am. Because of this they ran past the 3 hours I hired them for and I was charged ANOTHER HOUR. I called Uhaul to file a complaint and waiting for contact from someone to see if some form of reimbursement can be given. Your employee not being at the Uhaul site on time and the app not working (others had issues with the app too) cost me $120.00. Unacceptable and bad business.

Katie KThe keys were not in the lockbox when i showed up. Had to call multiple numbers and wait for an hour for people to show up. The app didnt ask to take pics of the uhaul right away but it was dirty in the front and back and the tank was half empty already. The uhaul itself steering was off. Ive been renting uhaul for the last 8 years but not doing it again, seems like you dont care about the customer experience.

Faisal RI’m 6’4” and the positioning while I drove was too tight and uncomfortable for me. I was unable to adjust the chair further back, and I wish that there was a better, more comfortable way the seat could’ve been adjusted for someone my height.
Anthony MFix your damn app. I should not have to spend 45 minutes trying to access the pickup in the app, only to be told to go to the website for it to work. Especially when the instructions for mobile say to use the app. I'm extremely irritated with that process.
Ashley YGreat customer service. When I did not know how to pick up correctly, I called customer service. She’s very kind , patient and helped me a lot to pick up successfully. And also after calling, she sent me a message to show the instructions of the return. The whole experience was very nice and it’s a kind and patient customer service. If I ever need to rent again, I will still select here.

Laura BTruck was presented with an empty tank (no gas) costing a $145.00 to fill the tank before we even got started on our journey. This open issue has not been resolved and this location is very short handed with no time at all to check the truck in or out. Very disappointing and quite surprised that this is how U Haul allows their dealerships to operate.

MARY KOnce I was able to confirm that reservation, then got the code for the lock box. I opened the lock box and there was no key for truck. I then spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to get a truck. I ended up getting a larger truck (which was not needed) for the price of original reservation. I finally got a key for a bigger truck that was not in good shape. Overall it took 90 minutes to reserve and get the truck. The location was not well light for after hours use. Not a good experience.
Matthew KMy move was significantly delayed because the key box I was given was left open and had no key in it. I then had to call at least 5 different phone numbers and wait on hold until I could get a representative that could give me a new key box and truck. As a result, the move started much later than expected and took a lot longer because I was no longer able to meet the original schedule, and I was charged for two periods when it was UHaul’s issue that led to the timing. Cabin also smelled awful.

Abhijit JThe truck smelled bad, almost like cigarettes. The truck was in a different parking lot than what the picture in the app showed so it took twenty minutes to find. The app kept malfunctioning. I would not do mobile pick up again.
Rebecca WI accidentally left one of the packing blankets at my place and returned it to this location. It was left on the keybox in the room where all the other ones were.
Lawrence DVehicle fuel wasn't full. Inconvenience to back truck out in a small areas. Put in for moving labor didn't realize that it didn't go through until the morning of move. Because everything is on computer it show paid when I put it in.

The process is more complicated than it should be: rather than waiting to get to the location to check in on an app that doesn’t work the code and pick up instructions should be given before. The location should have some lights at night and have a better lock box and locks

Byung WEquipment and location were great. The U-Haul 24/7 app process was not great. If you have an out-of-state license you need to submit additional information to rent the truck. This is not mentioned on the online guides or YouTube videos. It took an extra 30 minutes to gather and review the additional identification required. Next time, it'd be nice if U-Haul gave us a heads up that this additional info is required for out-of-state renters. Thanks
