I needed to move a house full of furniture, so I rented a U-Haul with 2 dollies. Upon arrival, the employee said he had the truck but sent out the dollies earlier that day with another customer. When asked why I wasn’t notified earlier that they wouldn’t be available, they said “I don’t do that.” I then had to drive across the city to another location to rent and pick up dollies, which in turn added up in unnecessary fuel and milage cost on the rental truck, and also set me back over an hour with paid hired move help waiting, as well as just overall frustration. This could’ve been avoided with a quick phone call notification so I could’ve sorted the issue out beforehand. Otherwise, the U-Haul itself had no issues and was easy to drop off after hours.

phil oThe pick-up process was HORRIBLE. Sat in parking lot for over 30 minutes trying to get authorization to get the keys. They had to call multiple people just for them to say "OK" to the U-Haul associate, ridiculous. All of this should have been done during the reservation request not when I'm trying to actually move, causing me delays in the evening. Then the app would not let me view the pictures it wanted me to verify so I wasn't able to complete the initial condition of the truck section. So now I'm possibly liable for damage that was done before me. But again the process took so long i was forced to just move on without finishing it. Very frustrating experience and would not recommend to anyone.

Thomas RThe personnel were not onsite when I dropped it off since it was a Sunday, which is no problem. The location is in a neighborhood that seems a little down on its luck and all of the equipment has to be backed into its parking spot which could be problematic for less experienced drivers.

Regina HWhen a person reserves utility dolly and furniture pads online and you get there and the equipment changes from 15 foot to 20 foot, no utility dolly at any location in Indy, no furniture pads and only a half a tank of gas for a one-way rental. Change these issues.
Florence SThis was an unmanned location. No personnel on site, very poor signage, office located on the third floor of a ghetto building with an elevator that should be in service. After discovering no one was at the office I took the stairs down instead of the elevator. Tripped over a loose item in the stairs fell down and incurred a light injury (no big deal - just aggravating). Called the office to report the truck leaked and damaged items but never got a return call. Now I have second thoughts about using U-Haul again after this nonsense.

They didn’t care that my friend and I were waiting and listening to everything. He then proceeds to call his boss on speakerphone instead of dealing with us after he made us wait 45 minutes for him when he said he was just downstairs, come to find out he left and went to gas station. When I told him and the boss on the phone I didn’t have time for this, I was moving from Indy to Illinois he was rude again. I told him I was calling corporate he says well I was going to give you 50 miles off but if you’re going to call corporate and complain about me fuck you. If I didn’t have to leave the state to be in Illinois today I would’ve canceled the truck. I have never been treated nor talked to like that ever. My corider Erin Williams was a witness and heard all of this and more. There is so much more to write Did I mention this was the 3rd uhaul place we went to today because you all switched my reservation from where I wanted to pick it up twice. I was two hours behind schedule dealing with this. I honestly doubt I will ever use uhaul again, especially in Indianapolis.
