The original leasing agent (Hoyt) was so nice. The current manager was not. I suppose it can be said that life is a two-way street and I may be equally at fault, but I found her to be abrasive and unprofessional. The location was great and the manager was a great help when trying to put the truck up by phone. He even had to call corporate because the process of pick up using phone is a joke and he couldn't even do it in his computer without calling. Customer service is a joke. I waited 45 minutes at the desk to be helped. Then the van was filthy, it had shells in it and you could tell no effort was made to even wipe it down.Melissa F.

I had a confusing and bumbuled experience with my rental this past week. You changed my original reservation to pick up at a different location that had no trucks and did not expect to have any for a week or more. You quoted a rate of $19.95 for the day as you could not provide a10ft. Truck I had requested. Then the receipt came charging me $29.95 for the day plus $14.00 for safe move care that was not a part of my original reservation. I will be expecting to receive a new receipt with new corrections in a PDF form.James L.
Once again, for 2 weeks in a row, Uhaul texted me a confirmation that my reservation was ready, and the furniture pads I had reserved were nowhere to be found when I picked up the truck. Of course, the location had no pads. But, they could give me directions to another location where I COULD GO pick up the pads I had ordered. Plus, with no smoking signs all over the location, the office reeked of stale smoke and the trash cans were full of empty Pall Mall packs.I'll be in touch for my $50 satisfaction guarantee.Perry C.

I questioned this when picking up the truck and was told it did not matter where I dropped it off so I dropped it where the text told me to. Location was fine but not to pleased with Uhaul themselves for advertising a 17' truck AT THIS LOCATION and then not giving it to us. It didn't say "we'll try to get a 17", it said they had one. Upgrading to a 20' was not a good thing for us since it was a tight squeeze where we went.LISA L.

The truck is a death trap. The front tires shimmy and shake badly, the truck drifts from left to right and back again, the truck leaked water, the inside cab was dirty, it was a quart low on oil, it back fires when you give it gas going up a hill, the power steering growls like it's ready to go out and the inside of the wind shield was beyond dirty No one even bothered to show me how to use the truck.Tom G.

We needed to pick furniture up in Fort Payne, AL and deliver to our location in Ellijay, GA. We first tried to rent a truck from the Fort Payne dealer, man said lady whom quotes "one-way" service was picking up her children at school and would be back at 3:30. We NEEDED the truck that day. She calls me back at 3:54, she closes at 4:00, and she would NOT wait on me to rent her truck and make her money! So my husband and I chose our local dealer to rent a truck "round trip" instead. This cost us extra money (Thurday rental at.49/mile vs Friday at .69/mile)..so we were not happy at all with the Fort Payne service, but very happy with the helpful folks in Ellijay and would gladly chose them again.WILLIAM G.

Walk around the truck with the customer to check condition and ensure the gas is at the level the paperwork states. This has been my experience at several U-haul rental businesses over the years. This was not done at this business and I should have insisted but was in a hurry. The paperwork showed that the truck had 1/2 of a tank of gas when it only had 1/4 since my nephew drove the truck off the lot I wasn't aware of this until after we loaded the truck and was about to take it on the road. I inquired about the gas and became aware. Because it started with 1/4 we returned it with 1/4. We were called about it and ended up taking it to get more gas in it to avoid further charge. I probably should have checked it before pulling off the lot, but I also think the renter should have ensured that it was correct too.Cathy L.

The employee told me I could drop the vehicle at any uhaul location in virginia because he had annotated it in the computer. I changed drop locations and was charged $105. I called customer service on july 8th and they told me someone would call me in 72 hrs. I haven't heard from anyone. Additionally, the rented truck's sideview mirror was completely loose and twisting around as I drove. I had to tighten it myself. Overall, bad experience with uhaul.Lisa K.
