I rented a truck from a place near my apartment in Chicago (on Cermak). When I arrived there, I was told I had to go to a place 30 minutes away and was handed a piece of scrap paper with an address on it. This put me at least an hour behind when I had movers scheduled and had reserved my building's freight elevator. The address was an empty lot in a bad neighborhood. A truck was parked there with no key, and the person in the gas station next door had no information. After 45 minutes on the phone with Uhaul, the person admitted that the app (which I had to download) had not been updated by Uhaul. After finally securing the key, I opened the truck to find that none of the rented equipment was inside. But because I was in a parking lot on the West Side of Chicago, there was nothing I could do about it. And I was still late - so movers that I was paying by the hour were sitting at my apartment 30 minutes away waiting for me. TERRIBLE and deceitful customer service.

LINDA SThe staff at the Amoco was excellent, but the location has lockboxes for the Uhaul key and they weren't maintained. I didn't receive a 4-letter passcode for a lockbox and could not get one through Uhaul customer support. I finally received the key after 30 minutes when customer support spoke directly to Amoco staff through my phone. Uhaul customer support was rude and tried to blame me for the issue.
