There was a lack of customer service and value for money. I was very as surprised when we picked up the truck, we were not accompanied by a U-Haul employee to inspect the truck before leaving. The U-Haul employee commented that they did their own walk around inspection and told us to take pictures of anything that should be noted before we left. We were told to have the gas at the same level as when we got the truck, no issue there, but the gauge was at 1/4 full. Typically and to make life so much easier, you receive the vehicle with a full tank and return it that way. Once we were on our way, it was immediately apparent that the truck needed maintenance as the truck drove very very shaky and was pulling to one side. We could not go over 90km (on the highway in a 110km zone) because the truck would shake so badly. My partner (knowledgeable about trucks and vehicles) commented that the truck should not be on the road in the state it was. It was a very very long and physically uncomfortable drive. When we dropped the truck off the next day as scheduled, we handed the keys to the gas bar attendant as no U-Haul employees were working. No one accompanied us to review the truck when we dropped it off. The process of moving is already stressful enough but when the truck you have rented and expect to be in safe working order is not, and you are paying over $400.00, the stress triples.
Lori SI gave a good rating because everything went well at the location and the person we dealt with was great. However, we wanted to rent in Calabogie or Renfrew but could not because of very low inventory in both locations. I called one location directly and was told they struggle to get inventory despite high demand. We ended up having to rent further away than we wanted and we had to bring it back to Arnprior instead of Calabogie. We also reserved an appliance dolly which was confirmed by the person on the phone (who was also extremely pleasant to deal with) and when we went to pick the truck up, we were told there was not a dolly for us and that in fact they haven’t been able to get any at that location for months and months. This made our move way more challenging and was a disappointment.

Simon BCrank lift was extremely hard to adjust and ratchet strap could not be used until I had to get some lubricant at destination. Very inconvenient. Expect ions not met.
Ray MThis location wasn’t pleasant he didn’t read any of rules and didn’t explain anything and the truck was filthy and charged me two deposits. When telling them it was dirty he told me oh well. I will never recommend this location for a U-Haul truck. Very unprofessional in all ways.

Donald DMy reservation was switched from Ottawa to arnprior 24 hours before. This was inconvenient and costly to have to taxi out. Although uhaul indicated a remote access to a key was possible, messaging from the local area tokd me No. The phone numbers provided went to uhaul not the local area. The area itaelf was wqsy to access ans the staff were polite and efficient.

Jay LWhen l called to make my reservation in Arnprior whoever who l was talking to made my reservation in Renfrew which l did not want. When l went to arnprior no reservation because the reservation was booked in Renfrew. Arnprior had a truck so l rented from them. The lady said she would cancel the reservation in Renfrew she never did Renfrew U-Haul called me. My concern is lack of communication and understanding a clients wants. Ty Kim

Connie DI have rented vans several times from uhaul over the years from various locations around Arnprior, Ontario. I have never been charged a cleaning fee. This time I was. The van did not require cleaning due to anything I did. This is the first time I rented from this location at Antrim Truck Stop in Arnprior. I suspect somebody there is a little "over zealous" and if you check other invoices there will probably be cleaning charges on some of them also. If I am not reimbursed the 25.00 cleaning charge, this will be the last time I rent from uhaul.

Maximiliano SThe whole experience was very good from start to finish. Renting used to be more difficult in the past. Everything relating to the documents for the vehicle (checklist )is sent electronically via email. However not everyone has access to data and may have to use wifi or not have electronics at all. Could you provide another way for non data users to submit the documents.
Martin HHardly was even able to get the truck. Because of miscommunication between uhaul staff. They scheduled me for a day that the location was closed and didn’t even bother checking or anything until the day of when the man at the Antrim truck stop location laughed in my face and told me he “didn’t know why they scheduled you for today” on Sept 1st. Thankfully Kim managed to give me a truck. However no full tank of gas, check engine light turned on after I loaded up my belongings and then the gas pedal wouldn’t work when driving to my new home to unload: thankfully we made it but we were unable to complete our second trip of the day. Which was going to be from arnprior to Constance Bay. Now I have to hopefully find someone else because I don’t know if I can trust uhaul again to book another truck to actually complete the move. Which is costing me a lot of money because of your incompetent staff. I have to book another day off, get another truck from somewhere else and do the rest of the move later.
Aa JYou changed my pickup location two days before my move date to a town that was half an hour away. It was a major inconvenience and I will be considering other companies for my next truck rental.

Cyrus JMy contract wasn't available on line, they could find the required information, which was odd as this was the place I visited in person and made the reservation. I explained that I had originally reserved the truck for 7 days but returned it 2 days early, I wasn't charged mileage as I was told I had to pick up the truck at Cadillac Storage 1725 Dunrobin Rd Kanata ON K2K1X7 . Which wasn't on Dunrobin road but a strip of road tuck away from this address. Even after I contacted in writing U-Haul about the overcharge, I still haven't been credit for the 2 days that I was over charged which is totally unacceptable. I will never ever use the U-Haul services again. A terrible experience at both ends!!!.
Mark GI had the vehicle rented until 4pm and started getting calls at 2pm asking I return the vehicle because it was rented the next day. This is ridiculous.

Rebecca PWell I ordered a ten foot smallest truck almost a week ahead of time and I was told that I would have to go sixty kilometers out of city to get it on move date and I paid for a bus a day prior to get there I phoned to confirm and then they said now there was one in Ottawa I told them I purchased a ticket on the bus so I went to Arnprior and they wouldn't rent me the small one I needed and only a big one that had an exhaust leak and the transmission was whining so after a few hours of mingling I drove back east to Ottawa packed for two days because my tumors in my stomach rupchered a bit and then I traveled west to thunder bay it consumed more gas and the exhaust leak worsened with fumes in the cab but I made it,I took it back to the exact place that they told me to take it with the gas gage where it was sapota be there was no staff working representing U-Haul and I was told to take it three blocks away and park it and walk back because the boss was gone till after Canada Day that night I dropped it off I received a email saying that they took almost fifteen dollars out of my bank account for not enough gas nobody was there to examine the truck or the gas gage and Tuesday the July 02/24 is tomorrow I explained to the dude the truck needed exhaust work but he said he doesn't do anything at work to deal with U-Haul,, there is more to this statement but do too the activity from the start to the finish only so much can be said but one thing All transactions are recorded so if one chooses to lie it won't be good
Richard RAbsolutely nothing!!! Decided to rent without being prepared. Owner lent me her hitch and employee lent me a connector. Maybe have some hitches and connectors to rent to unorganized people like me!!!! Hahaha!

It's probably buried in an email somewhere, but I couldn't find it when I walked up to the counter to sign out my vehicle. I needed a "key number," but I had no idea what that was or where to find it. I have 8 email threads sitting in my inbox from the checkout process and I had no idea which one to look in.

mikhail gYour self serve option on my phone is not an easy navigation.I had to phone a customer service representative and they completed the booking after 45 mins of trying myself. I am computer savvy but this fix not go well. To find my truck I had to try my key in all of them. I will use your services in the future but not the app.

Marc MAwful service, I dropped off my rental at 9:42am right after filling it with gas to the gas mark. Employee was rude when dropping off the keys, later I found out I got charged $70 because he put that I dropped it off at 2:22pm. I sent a email to Antrim about this and contacted uhaul. Next step will be social media to boycott this company!! Uhaul was good, talked to me on the phone and let me know someone will be in touch in the next few days. Uhaul did great,
