I have rented from U-Haul several times in the past and this was by far the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental! The U-Haul I was given was COMPLETELY unsafe to drive and would not have even passed a State Inspection. The steering wheel was VERY LOOSE and vehicle hard to control while driving on the road. There was a loud “clunking” noise coming from the steering shaft. The alignment was also WAY off. The cab was dirty, I had to clean the windows to be able to safely see, and trash found under the seat and the cab smelled of cat urine. The windshield wipers were ineffective in the rain (I had to drive all the way from NC to FL in the rain!). The box portion of the truck leaked horribly and I sustained water damage to my belongings. Also, the transmission slipped between first, second, and third gears making a loud squeal when finally shifting. Truck would regularly rev to over 4000 rpm’s while this was happening. I was honestly SCARED TO DEATH the entire 8 hrs of my drive! I would like a representative to give me a call back regarding this truck and the experience I had.

When it started raining, water started leaking inside the truck and running down the floor where my belongings were stored. We noticed the leak and puddle of water running and had to use my best towels and comforters to absorb the water. By the time we made it to our destination, the towels and comforter smelled so bad from the water and heat that they had to be thrown away. I've heard bad things about u-haul . Now I know why.

Gregory BWell considering I only use 2 gallons of fuel in a charged me for 4 gallons at $5 a gallon which fuel is only $3.40 gallon and then they charge me $30 just to put the fuel in which all in all I should have only been charged maybe 15 bucks at the most cuz it don't take $30 to go to the gas station and put fuel in and the worst part is it wasn't on a quarter of a tank it was right below a quarter of a tank when I got it and I put it brought it back in between a quarter and an eighth and yet they're saying it was brought back on an eighth so no I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

The folks there were very friendly, the location was very easy to get to, and the yard that they have the equipment in is the best layout I’ve ever seen at any U-Haul location. The equipment wasn’t jammed in there like other places. It was orderly, and spaced out perfectly for easy pickup and drop off.

PHILLIP PThe air conditioning did not work, the steering wheel was off center by 90 degrees which obscured the speedometer and dash display. The worst part was the so-called roadside assistance ! We called to see if we could trade trucks at our destination and were told we could wait in place for a service vehicle. We decided to continue to our destination and call for help there. We called for help and waited over an hour, when called back we were told to drive to a local dealer for service. We drove to the dealer who did not have the supplies needed for repair and waited for them to go get what was needed. Waited again for parts and repair - all of this without air conditioning in the truck or dealers office. Well over four hours lost time on the move plus over half a day in 90 degree weather. Not a happy renter! Too much time, too much money, not enough service; overall an unhappy, one-star rated, lousy day. Worst u-haul experience of my life.

Ahmed TWe were told my multiple Uhaul employees that the truck was dock height which it was not. This was our first time renting a box truck so we relied on the information from the employees. I advised multiple times that it must be dock height. This caused us to have to physically load and unload 9 pallets by hand. This is why we had to keep the truck for additional days. I have called and explained the issues on two occasions and the supervisor has never called me back. Also, I have been billed for dolleys that we did not request or use. This appears to be a scam and I will never do business with Uhaul gain. This has cost my small business a lot of extra expense and noone at Uhaul will own the mistake.
