Really nice staff
MARION C.Make sure equipment doesn't fall apart when leaving the rental location. Had a S hood on the safety chain of a car dolly rental fall off within two blocks of the rental location leaving after renting it and it went bouncing away. It wasn't properly crimped on the chain link.
Mark C.Well first things first the people renting the trucks shouldn't tell me that as long as I have the truck returned by Monday before they open when I rented it Saturday and then when Monday rolls around they charge me for 3 days of rental and over draft my bank account because of it and the uhaul want to make me wat 48 hours before someone will get back to me. Needless to say I payed 235 dollars for a 30 hour truck rental and the people I rented to told me I was fine as long as I retired the truck by Monday before they open.
Marcelo C.I have rented probably 20 uhauls over the last several years and the entire experience this time was out of the ordinary and absolutely awful. The guy at the register seemed bored with his job but I put that aside until the remainder of my experience. The truck was dirty. The transmission seems to struggle shifting which made gas economy practically non existent. It drove very different that any I have had. It also bounces a lot more than any I have had and seems to have a lot of play in the steering wheel. For someone not familiar with larger vehicles they would likely really struggle to drive this truck. Half the brake lights did not work, which meant turn signals did not work either so I had a family member follow me everywhere to avoid being rear-ended. The driver seatbelt gets stuck and will not let you out. The passenger door does not always latch You have to really slam it or it will pop open. We loaded a second load late in the evening with the intention of unloading the next morning. When we parked we got a couple things from the back and the door on the back would not close. It took 3 people and several tries which were very loud and upset the neighbors at 1am to get it to close so we did not have to unload it then. The door on the back was pretty consistently an issue but that was the worst time to get it to close. The dolly was also beyond its years and the wheels sometimes felt like they were not as loose as one normally is and it made it difficult to steer, maybe from wear and tear. Sincerely the only thing that was a positive about this entire experience was that I didn't break down.

Alan T.The truck was dirty inside. The floors were not swept, and the ashtray was used and not emptied. It had only a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas. These trucks should be cleaned and filled with gas before pick up!

I did not realize until after i started my 1013 mile drive that the cruise control, horn, and reverse lights were not functional on the truck. Cruise control not working made the drive incredibly inconvenient. This was not the fault of BC Tool Rental.

All of the staff worked to find a solution, including arranging a location for the wiring to be installed. It was excellent customer service that resulted in everything working out above and beyond my expectations. Thank you!
randy C.There was a check engine light on on the truck. A small chip in the windshield. The strap for the left tire on the car trailer slipped three times on our trip. One of the employees made a sexist joke, my mom was with me when that happened. It sounded like they were giving us a couple extra days and miles for free. They did not, we were charged for it. Over all, an alright experince. We got a truck and were able to pack it. So I guess they got their side of the job done. But I would not recommend this place.

Drove 40 MAYBE miles and I paid for 20 INCLUDED IN THE PRICE somehow they are saying i drove 49 from Chesapeake to ironton and back.. 17.9 mile there and 17.9 miles back 0.7 mile from my apartment to the b&c tool in ironton to take it back.. my calculations are not adding up and my card was charge 125.68. Had i know the price would be this ridiculous i would've never rented!!! They charge whag they want when they want!

mary D.An older man in the store was extremely rude when we confronted him about an issue that came up during our mobile pickup. A younger man was very helpful and worked with uhaul over the phone to reassign us a truck after someone left with our truck that was assigned to us.
Norman L.Please make sure that the trailer is hookup accurately and the brakes are functioning. The trailer was hooked up to a 2021 F150 with towing package on a 20 inch height hitch when a drop to 18 inch needed to be done. When asked, the guys at the U-Haul said it was OK. Not true. The trailer bucked when braking, the guys said that was OK. Not. For anyone who has done towing, you know how import hitch height and braking is. I had to get a drop and correct the issue before we drove for 400+ miles. It fixed the bucking. While driving downhill, we experienced major sway. The trailer was loaded right. The brakes were not working accurately. It felt like one side was not kicking in at the same time as the other. We ended up having to take backroads and more time to make the trip. Next time I see a person driving a U-Haul, I am going to pray for them.
Elizabeth M.The hitch connection for the ball is too loose and it is not adjustable. U Haul should go back to an adjustable hitch that can be tightened which will reduce the clatter when towing a trailer.

Given that I was going to load this truck with my stuff and drive a couple hours obviously I wanted to feel secure in the truck so I asked for another one and they kind of acted like "oh it just does that" I had to basically insist on another truck and the guy literally went with me to make sure it didn't also have a check engine light on.

amanda S.I rented a U-Haul on February 10. I also rented two dollies and blankets but I'll pick the truck up early and the dollies and blankets were in there. So when I took The truck bag I spoke to the guy that runs cc tool rental and he said he forgot. So I got an invoice from U-Haul a few days later and those items were on there. I immediately sent a dispute to have been taken off I wasn't gonna pay the rental bill until that was taken care of. I have never heard back from anyone about this in my card was charged with the amount the other day and he yes I would really like to haveand the difference refund it back to my car
