Overall, it was a great experience and good value for the money. The "contactless" pick-up was a bit "clunky." As I had included the "second" number in my original application, I was unable to use that one (a relative's phone) for pick up ID verification....this could have been explained better. Also, the pick up was actually a "contact" pick up since I had to go into the gas station, talk to the attendant, and pick up the keys from her.....I would not do the contactless type of pick up in the future. That being said, I was still satisfied with the rental. Thanks.Mark B.

Don't use this location. Woman behind the counter typed info into computer while wearing winter, wool gloves. She managed to type in the wrong mileage, unknown to us, so when we returned the van 1 1/2 hours and 14 miles later she charged us 195.00 then said she couldn't fix it. We had to sit in the parking lot for 20 minutes on hold to speak to a UHaul representative to get things straightened out. Also, the van was filthy inside, including a used face mask. We made the mistake of not telling her about the dirty inside of the van as she was chatting on the phone with a co-worker when we signed the contract and were given the key. We will NEVER go back there.Robbin C.

Pickup location was fine and agent was polite... the problem was that she had to enter all my information in the computer when I picked up the trailer. That info should have been already entered. Required me to stand in the facility while agent was coughing excessively (she was wearing a mask) for about 10 minutes. Scary during a pandemic. So much for contact-less pickup. Also the contract stated that I was overcharged and was to receive a $23.76 refund which never occured.Tom B.
The person at this location that handled my rental contract was poorly trained as she had to start over and again keying my information into the U-Haul system. Then, upon my returning the trailer I discovered I was charged two (2) day rental when I only had the trailer for 22 hrs. As I write this form I still have not gotten the appropriate refund from U-Haul. Very bad experience.JOHN M.

While using your App, I thought I was done completing my reservation for a trailer rental. I got as far as seeing that my current invoice was $0.00 and yet your App apparently did not reserve the trailer. I think UHaul should improve this process. Also, I think iHaul rental rates are misleading as 99% of places do not want to rent a trailer for a whole day which your rates show - yet, UHaul does guarantee the trailer will be available. Then to complicate things worse, apparently most locations are franchised not operated by UHaul. I would now rather rent from ANY other company - Hertz (?)John G.

The Odometer read 43,643 on it. I put 20 miles on the vehicle. When I dropped the vehicle off, I was charged for 50 miles on the truck instead of 20. She never inspected the vehicle at all, Mileage or otherwise. Before I used the truck or after. I will be making a phone call to corporate tomorrow. Would not recommend at all. Will use Budget Rental from now on.Wayne K.

Our pickup location was changed to Edgewater the day before pickup, which was much further from our home than the reserved location. But we were told we could still pick up the truck at 6:30 AM. and I called the Edgewater location to confirm, About 2 hours later, I got a voicemail and email from UHaul stating the truck pick-up could not be until 8AM. I again called the Edgewater location the evening before and starting at 6:30 AM - no answer. When we arrived early about 7:30 for pickup, the person working said he had b been there since 6:30 and that we could have came early. Truck pick-up was easy and truck in great shape. Just frustrating the frequent change messages from UHaulDavid H.

This is my first experience with U-Haul were they didn't play the bait-switch on my reserved equipment. Every time I've reserved in the past, with a guarantee, the equipment was not available. "Oh someone was here before you". "Oh it wasn't returned yesterday". "Here you can rent this instead, it's only $XXX more a day."William H.

Truck cab and storage area were very dirty. The ratchets for the vehicle tie-down straps were rusted and unusable. We had to buy our own ratchet straps from Home Depot to secure the car. The location did not offer any customer service. It was a gas station with a cashier who didn't know anything about how to operate the truck or trailer. She simply had us sign the paperwork and said she couldn't help or answer any questions.Joseph R.
The whole transaction went smooth. I picked up and dropped off at the same place. The trailer was in top shape and had nice bright LED lights. BP staff made short work of the deal. While under way a PA trooper inspected my truck and trailer and fou.d nothing to report.Michael D.
Everything was great. And the representative at the location was fabulous. Only issue was that the trailer had not been previously cleaned well. It had a lot of gravel in the bed. Although, it did not cause me any issues.William C.
MY BIG BEEF is that when I arrived at the U-Haul Annapolis store at my designated pick-up time I learned that U-HAUL had inconveniently changed my designated reservation origin from the Annapolis, MD location to a Glen Burnie, MD location (20 MILES AWAY). HUGE LOW MARKS to U-Haul for that! The Agent at the Annapolis location was able to locate an available trailer at the BP Gas Station Edgewater, MD site (11 MILES away). While pleased that it was much closer to Annapolis than Glen Bernie ... I was also distressed to learn that the only trailer they had available was MUCH LARGER than I had reserved or required. Pressed to meet a departure and travel schedule, I reluctantly agreed that this was the only logical option, and the Annapolis Agent altered my Pick-up reservation. I arrived at he BP Gas Station Edgewater shortly after 12-noon (my designated pick-up time), but there was only one staff member (cashier) on duty. She diligently attempted to complete my rental paperwork while balancing other patrons who were in line to purchase gas, lottery tickets, food, etc. When the paperwork was completed, she pointed at the trailer and said thank you -- no equipment review or assistance was offered. Fortunately, this was not my first time attaching a trailer to a tow vehicle! I did however, find the trailer parked in an awkward position relative to the other equipment on-site, and I returned to the rental desk to ask for assistance moving the 1900# trailer. By that time another staff member (cashier) had come on duty and he quite pleasantly agreed to assist. Together we re-positioned the trailer, attached it to my vehicle, he confirmed that the trailer's lights were operational and I departed. Kudos for that effort! All in all -- my U-Haul rental reservation fulfillment experience was a 4 out of 10, with ALL negative points belonging to the U-HAUL online rental process and the unplanned and poorly communicated change in origin location. The experience at the ultimate rental pick-up point was a 7 out of 10. The experience at the ultimate drop-off point was 9 out of 10 (if the location were a bit cleaner, I would have given it a 10 out of 10).Clyde D.

Location is in a gas station with a convenience store. Only one employee in the store and she gave me lowest priority below a line of customers buying lottery tickets. Lots of lottery tickets. When I finally got to the truck, the check engine light came on and stayed on. I had to return and get another truck, repeating much of the process because the store employee couldn't get her supervisor on the phone. They were not prepared for my rental at all, even though I stopped in earlier in the day to check on..another manager from another store stopped by for something and ended up helping us at pick up ... we were relocated to this address for pick up as the one we chose didn't have truck available, were suppose to receive discount for this, instead that discount was 70 higher!!!! The location was great. I was not happy with getting ripped off for one more day of rental when I called the corporate number for an extension. You really want to stick it to the customer don't you? HORRIBLE customer service! An additional $50 to me was overly excessive and will be considering Penske next time who also provides AAA discounts. I used U-Haul because it was convenient for me but will think twice next time.Philip O.

The self check in process took way too long. I waited over 5 minutes for the online agent just to respond. It took so long that I had to go inside the store to complete the check in process in person. Overall it took 20 minutes for me to get the truck from the time I arrived to the store.Evan P.

This location is collocated with a gas station. The employees were friendly, but not well versed in customer facing. Our computer doesn't work/printer doesn't work. Notes taped all over the screen. Truck was functional and did it's job, but the interior cab when picked up was filthy and disgusting. Spillage all over the cup holders, etc. and unsanitary. Again, it worked and I got my task done, but not the type of customer experience one would expect.Charles D.

The employees need more training. The lady that attempted to check the truck out did not know how to turn the computer on. The manager of the location did not check the truck back in properly. I've had to make calls to the corporate office to obtain a rental receipt. Asked to speak to the regional manager and have yet to hear from hear. Very poorly run location. Still not 100% certain aboutvthe security of my CC. My information was written on a post it note by an employee. At least I'll know where to start if funds start missing.John G.
