I ordered online to pick up the Uhaul truck at 8am and was told I can do the pickup without having to go in the store. When I get there, we find the truck, I start going through the online check in process, and it tells me that I cannot get the keys until the store opens at 10am. This set our moving back 2 hours. I was extremely disappointed and did not get reimbursed for the inconvenience. We had people waiting to help move and they were all waiting around because there was no truck. The manager of the location just said that the system was poor and manually had to give us the keys. Not only did this set us back but we also had to waste our own gas to drive to the location not just once but three times to see if the manager was there yet to pick up this Uhaul. They said if you schedule the haul in person it was better than online. Regardless, this was a huge set back.Caitlin C.

The black box for the key is a little too high, luckily my husband was there to help me get the key out. I could reach it, but the way the lock was situated I wasn't tall enough to stand over the lock to do or see the code! Also the trucks are parked very close together, which was ok if you kept the mirrors in, but not as easy to get in and out with the mirrors open. Overall I would do this again, but for the first time I don't think the whole experience was user friendly or first time friendly maybe. Going through the pick up and return process was a struggle for some reason. Maybe it was just me the user!? Who knowsâ€¦ either wayâ€¦ I found the process a little frustrating and thankfully someone else was with me to help.Amy C.

The BP staff member was hesitant to give me the keys to the vehicle even when I was talking to UHAUL customer service; and after they advised I had paid and the keys were to be distributed at a window and not through a lockbox.Sarah R.

Terrible customer service. Arrived at location at 7:15 am. Lock box was frozen. Took over 50 minutes to figure out how to get the key, between calling U-Haul, asking gas station attendant (who put the key in the box that morning, but acted like she had nothing to do with U-Haul or the key), opening the frozen lock and then the back end of the truck being frozen shut. The interior was dirty and finally the heat kicked in after 40 minutes of running the truck! IF I ever rent U-Haul again, I will demand it be at a U-Haul location pick up, where my pick up was originally supposed to be. I called and asked to not be charged for the hour late return, because that is how long it took before we actually drive the truck off the pick up location. Even that was a disaster. Calling a "local" U-Haul put my through to northwest Indiana and I am in west suburban Illinois, so they "couldn't do anything for me". Overall, this was the worst U-Haul experience I've ever had. The location itself was fine and the employees were helpful, the issue I have is with Uhaul itself. I made a reservation a month out, for a location that was close to our house and opens at 7am. 3 days before our move I get a call that we will have to use the BP Oswego. This is an hour away from our house (we live in Schaumburg, but this place is the only one with a truck?? There are literally hundreds of Uhaul places between Schuamburg and Oswego.) They say I can use the 24/7 box and still pick up at 8am. We had already paid movers to be at our home at 10am to start moving things. The night before, after business hours, I get a call that I can no longer pick it up at 8am, that I need to wait until they open at 10am. I try to explain that I already have movers coming to my house at 10am and that the location they switched me to is over an hour away. I basically get told it is what it is. This put me in a huge bind. I will never ever use Uhaul again and I will never recommend them.Michael R.

It took 2 hours to rent this truck, they're a satellite & even tho uhaul.com had all the information from my license, their place had such a bad wifi signal, they couldn't receive it& they denied renting to me. I call the 800# and was on hold for 20 min twice trying to convince anyone that I was the person on the license& finally we had to have another person to come over& create a Hotspot for them to be able to get the approval from uhaul. This was my first uhaul rental& I will never go to this location again. The employee I was dealing with was named Jay, no last name on his tag. The only reason I went to this Oswego location is because the closer Montgomery store didn't have the truck I needed in stock. From now on I'll order truck in advance. I just thought you should know how the customers were being treated at this location& maybe require them to upgrade their wifi.norma G.

There was a disconnect between uhaul and the pickup location. Uhaul says u need to go see the attendant to pickup the key when doing everything over your phone. The gas station attendant says uhaul needs to give me a code for a lock box to obtain the key. After 5min of going back n forth I finally was able to receive the key from the gas station attendant that unlocked the lock box. In the future location needs a clear guideline on how pickup is supposed to work for receiving the keysRyan N.
U-Haul did not meet the guarantee of having a pick up in my local area. Instead I had to drive 45 minutes away to pick up the trailer, then 45 minutes home. It was supposed to be 5 minutes away. When I called the Aurora, Illinois regional office I was told they would apply a credit to my card, but they did not.BRIAN N.
