Stranded 80 miles from home at U-Haul location and on phone with agent helping to get the key pad open. After an hour and a half on phone, phone dies. Shop attendant who felt sorry for me finally opened the key pad and let me take the truck. Experience was awful

U-Haul’s self check-in process was excessively long and tedious.
Gary BNever would i recommend this location I was on time for the U-Haul and when I opened the lock box there was no key had to get on a 10 minute call in order to get a answer then had to talk to the person in charge of the location turns out he forgot to put the key in the lock box. The online app does not work, wouldn’t recommend anyone to use the app or even go through U-Haul Home Depot has better deals for the trucks need the truck for 6 hours and I was charged $467 only use U-Haul if you really need it if not find another way.
Mario PIt was very difficult to pick up and return the truck on our own. Not impressed at all that there wasn’t a person onsite that we could work with. The owner of the gas station was friendly and helpful, but U-Haul could do a better job about creating an office with a real live person and a more simple system.
James SVery complex process for a boomer like me. But even a younger person would have some issues like the keybox very dificult to open, and the parking to return difficult in too small a space for a large van, and the app. didn't work. But the convenience to rent at any hour, without an attendant, if you don't mind spending an hour to get through the process is appreciated.
Craig CThere was no where to drop off the vehicle. Truck was a little bit dirty - there was dirt and sticky stuff on the floor
